My, how short the memories are. What's even worse is that you think we can magically go back to being a production economy. Sorry to say, that ship has long sailed. And the economy will be long in ruins and Skippy will be long gone by time this country is able to make it back there.
We are a service economy. Have been for a few decades now. And we were doing quite nicely. Until Amateur Hour blew into town.
Unfortunately, that's what happens when you elect a hack and he hires hacks to run government like a business..you get chaos.

There is nothing "magic" about reversing a policy that failed to deliver.
It is the way things are SUPPOSED to work. You have an idea. YOu implement the idea. It works, you build on it. It DOES NOT WORK, you learn and adjust and CHANGE, even CHANGE BACK.
If you wanted more nuance in the CHANGE portion, you had 40 years to take your more..."reasonable" approach.
This is a peasant revolt. Our leaders failed to consider our interests so the PEOPLE rose up and are making policy.

We won. Not everyone is retired or working in the gov't or service industry. The American People fired the Democrats.
Interesting you bring up 40 years, since it's been more than 50 since the last successfully implemented conservative policy.
I didn't hear you peep one snot when Dutch landed in DC and began spending like a drunken sailor and creating conditions that led to the start of manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas. But, y'all have short, selective memories.
