This is why the U.S. middle class collapsed

This explains it all. Also some props for Ross Perot who called it in the 1990's and was one of the few. Trump's tariff policies are RIGHT for this country, short term pain for long term gain.

Not even remotely true. The middle class was destroyed because business used to have ethics and though about their workers as much as they thought about their stock prices. Tariffs had nothing to do with it.

There is nothing "magic" about reversing a policy that failed to deliver.

It is the way things are SUPPOSED to work. You have an idea. YOu implement the idea. It works, you build on it. It DOES NOT WORK, you learn and adjust and CHANGE, even CHANGE BACK.

If you wanted more nuance in the CHANGE portion, you had 40 years to take your more..."reasonable" approach.

This is a peasant revolt. Our leaders failed to consider our interests so the PEOPLE rose up and are making policy.
You’re making policy?

Wow, tell us, “peasant”...when can we expect some prosecutions from the “fraud” that was supposedly uncovered?

Did they send the US manufacturing jobs overseas to exploit cheap foreign labor?

Interesting you bring up 40 years, since it's been more than 50 since the last successfully implemented conservative policy.
I didn't hear you peep one snot when Dutch landed in DC and began spending like a drunken sailor and creating conditions that led to the start of manufacturing jobs being shipped overseas. But, y'all have short, selective memories.

A peasant REVOLT?? :auiqs.jpg:
I'd hardly call 49.7% of the popular vote a revolt.
More like...meh...:)

The macro economic numbers were good. THey hid the cost to the middle class and working class.

The "PEEP" you were looking for, came in the 90s, when Patrick Buchanan primaried President Bush.

That was the time, if we were a serious nation, and functing well, to have realized the failure of the policy and adjust before the damage was fatal.

Instead, we allowed the MSM to paint Buchanan as a "Racist" HAHAHAHAHA, (remember when teh magic word still had power?) and we just... ignored the failure of the policy and stuck with it.

I voted for Buchanan in that primary. He lost. It was a big mistake for America.

And yes, this is what a "peasant revolt" looks like in our system.

My point stands. If you wanted a more nuanced response, you had your chance. for 40 years.

So.... you want to address my point, or talk some more nonsense?

Hard to say. There is so much crime being uncovered. And so much that deserves JUSTICE.

I personally hope that they focus on the lawfare people ahead of the fraud people.

Stealing is bad. Abuse government power to arrest your political enemies, is far worse.

Here's an idea: Bring some facts or reasoning or at least some humor to the boards, rather than the ZILCH that you are known for.

Look who's mad. I'm not here to humor you, either.

Maybe you should post a big long story about Charlie Munger because you know what the hell you're talking about.

I have no idea where to even begin with this drivel.
This economy began shifting from a production to a service economy back before Dutch landed...and there was no going back. That's the point here. No matter how pure you think the saviors motivations are. It ain't gonna happen.

I'm not mad. The braying jackass in that video is you. :D

Did they send the US manufacturing jobs overseas to exploit cheap foreign labor?
Certainly. Thats one of the ways they did that.

Here is the part where you pretend a tariff would have made all of the difference between paying an American worker $40 an hour + benefits and paying $4 a day and no benefits. Its always hilarous when you guys trot out that debunked pony...have at it.

Hard to say. There is so much crime being uncovered. And so much that deserves JUSTICE.
Yet not one person who supposedly was defrauding the government has been named. So nothing has been uncovered.
I personally hope that they focus on the lawfare people ahead of the fraud people.

There was no lawfare shit brains.

I’m sure there is some fraud...the sooner we prosecute the people during your pissant revolt..the better. So why don’t you get busy junior?

I have no idea where to even begin with this drivel.

I made clear and serious points. Try addressing them. I addressed yours, pretty civilly too. Might be a good idea to return that civility.

This economy began shifting from a production to a service economy back before Dutch landed...

That is true. I recall the early signs back in the 70s.

and there was no going back.

Err, why not? I mean, it is a very different question from why not TODAY, but in the late 70s? YOu really think that even then, it was "too late" to control events at all?

That's a strong claim. Would you like to explain that?

That's the point here. No matter how pure you think the saviors motivations are. It ain't gonna happen.

I've made no asertion or point based on any "savior" having "pure motives".

Oh, wait. THIS is your support of your point! You are doing that lib thing where you use RIDICULE as a form of SUPPORTING ARGUMENT.

Wow. So, in reality, that is a complete fail on your part.

You are unable to engage in discussion to support your points, AT ALL.

I think people are kidding themselves if they believe tariffs- or anything else- will bring back the days of abundant middle class factory jobs.

Those days are gone forever and ever. They’re never coming back

Who was making $40 per hour when Bill Clinton let China crush our steel industry?

Some people are just surrender monkeys by nature. Trump voters are not.

It’s not a matter of who is or isn’t president

The world and the economy have changed too much. No president can bring back those days. No country in history has moved to a postindustrial society and then went back. That’s not how it works

OK then we should just keep on with the same approach that has worked so well for 40 years? Open borders and globalism? House prices and college prices that keep on increasing, exponentially? College loans being fully guaranteed by the government of course, so that when Johnny comes out of college with his degree in basket weaving, John Q Taxpayer is on the hook for his loans.

Explain your point!
