This is what the Affordable Care Act did to healthcare costs.

Is that so?

Then why did the industry fight it every step of the way?

The insurance industry has owned the GOP for decades.

The industry didn't fight it. The industry wrote it.

No, we just want to make healthcare insurance more affordable. The issue with Obamacare is that it wasn't designed to do that, obviously, what it was designed to do was for the Demafacsit to partner with big insurance and give them massive govt bailouts.

It was bad for the American people. Trump and the GOP in his first term, fixed many of the issues, ie stopped punishing people that didn't want healthcare insurance, and stopped the big insurance bailouts, but more needs to be done

The major Trump ‘fix” was to broaden Medicare Advantage plans. Many of which are outright scams, and all of which will strand you with high deductibles and high co pays. While luring you in with cheap services offered for “free”

All it really did was lower costs to many Americans by charging their health care costs to the US National debt, which increased inflation to everyone.
Or by passing it along to moderate earners. The self-employed, who had good policies before Obamacare, ended up screwed.

Obamacare had high deductibles and high co-pays. I was paying $800 a month, and then had a $130-per-session co-pay for EACH PT session. I chose the no-insurance box and paid $99.

That is how bad Obamacare was. It was cheaper to pretend not to have it at all.

no the major trump fix was stopping the big insuracne bailouts that obama gave insurance companies and made their executive rich

The industry fought it every step of the way.

And they did their best to write it.

And they started by making sure that the public option was dropped, effectively removing the threat that “Medicare for All” would pose to private insurers.

That trend was universal in the health insurance industry well before the ACA.

No, the industry worked with the White House on the final draft. They did fight medicare for all, I'll give you that, but they loved Obama and Obamacare, it made big insurance very rich. Big Insurance spent millions buying Dems to get Obamacare.

Not one republican supported it.,

They didn't make sure the public options was dropped. Obama said from the start he wouldn't support that. Was it largely because he didn't want to lose the industry money? Yes, he put the needs of the party over the needs of the country.

Democrats could have passed it. They didn't. The "industry" didn't have a single vote.

Turn medicine into layers. And make it quicker for each one.

Obamacare was nothing more then a demafasict move to pay off their party donors in big insurance
So much for what you know. It's been republicans in insurance companies pockets for years. Dems have made very effort for many years to get the insurance companies out of the equation.

And left with what effectively was a catastrophic care policy - at exorbitant rates. My Obamacare policy was so bad that I found it cheaper to go as a “cash patient” and pay out of pocket.

I even paid out of pocket for my PT - at $99 a session. If I put it through my Obamacare, my co-pay was $130.

Think of it - I paid around $800 a month (almost double what I paid before Obamacare) for the “privilege” of having to overpay at the doctor’s office.
Why did you have an “Obamacare” policy? Weren’t you employed? Didn’t you get coverage at work?

Do you really think insurance companies wanted to accept everyone with pre existing conditions and have to start covering these people day one for cancer and other dreaded diseases? I think not.

That's great but when it becomes where people can not afford their premiums it all becomes moot.

that’s not true they all voted for Obamacare and not one Republican did

So you lie

No, but they did once they got the dems to give them massive amounts of money in bailouts

It didn't change my doctor, my plan, or my premium.

Sorry if you had an inferior plan where you maybe changed to a better plan.

But don't lecture me on what I had pre-Obama and what I had after.
No effect on my Health Insurance.
Your story is anecdotal. Doesn't matter one iota toward the discussion.

We were able to stabilize healthcare spending as a percent of GDP, which is actually amazing since we aren’t getting any healthier, that’s for damn sure.
