THIS is what I'm concerned about.

I think the reason behind that is the democrat deep state, including the media, had it at 80/20 in their favor for too long and now the pendulum has swung. The most telling sign from the last election is that no one really cares about the media's lies anymore and no one really gives a shit what Hollywood thinks anymore and a huge majority of Americans don't believe democrat lies anymore. Democrats had always taken those as a given and now they are totally befuddled that that just isn't the case anymore.
The deep state, are you being serious? The big beautiful bill that passed included a provision that prevents states from regulating AI for ten years. Are you OK with that? I mean look at the wording, "Artificial Intelligence", I mean it is fake, by definition, and intelligent, I don't think so. Already, today, it has exposed itself as totally stupid to me.

But look at the reality. Tariffs, hundreds of companies have filed, and been granted, an exception. Why? I mean at this point there is no pretending, the government is for sale. Those ICE raids, they have yet to target a single large operator, instead, they are going after small independent operators. In this administration you simply have to pay to play. ICE is never going to show up at a Tyson facility, they paid.

That should be insulting to every American. But no, we have useful idiots like yourself that consistently enable this dysfunctional bullshit. And Trump's staff, what a bunch of morons. Their incompetence is glaring. Kiss the ring of the almighty t

You seriously aren't claiming anyone on the right is abiding by the Federalist Papers. Which one would you like to discuss. 47 is a good place to start, 78 is pretty illuminating. From 47,

The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, selfappointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.

I mean you just waltzed into my wheelhouse. I would highly advise you to run away, quickly. But if you have any balls whatsoever, back up your claim. Quote a Federalist paper, any one of them, that supports Trump's actions and his administration. I mean I can see it now, a press conference, someone asks Trump, "Mr. President, what do you have to say about Federalist paper 47?", his response, "What is a Federalist paper?".

To change the subject slightly. I know that you get some of the same accusations about your politics from the cult that I do.

See posts 174 and 175 above. They always assume that if you're not in the cult you must be a liberal. Do you think they know that many Republicans and Independents are against Trumpism?

Have they not been told, are they in denial, or are they just lying? Or maybe just straight up stupid?
I am going with straight up stupid. The internet is a double edged sword. On one hand, well it is pretty damn convenient. Endless information right there at your fingertips. Want to know how to make shredded beef for tacos, Google it. What is a baseball steak, Google it. But on the other hand it gives a voice for the stupid. Birds of a feather will flock together, that is the defining characteristic of the MAGA crowd. It is more than obvious. They are just stupid, and know this, that word, "stupid" has consistently been banned from my house. But it has a real meaning, it is ignorance accepted, no willingness to learn. You can be dumb, but you can work to educate yourself. But if you are stupid, well you don't care. Call it willful ignorance.

The mid terms are on the way, and then another freaking presidential election season will begin. If the Republicans do well, or if the Democrats do well, that's up to the voters. Hopefully whichever party wins will suddenly realize we're a 50/50 country and will decide to start governing that way. For a change.

My only concern is if this aggressive, punitive, authoritarian administration is going to back off and let the voters have their say. We know the excuse for any of their meddling will be the "rigged election" that Trump claimed, months before the 2020 election even took place.

This is what I'm thinking about -- this can't happen:

Trump administration pushes states for election data, Washington Post reports

July 16 (Reuters) - The Trump administration and its allies are trying to obtain voter data from states and inspect voting equipment, the Washington Post reported on Wednesday, in moves it said had caused concern among state and local election officials.

The Post said "the most unusual activity" was taking place in Colorado, where it said a consultant who was working with the White House had asked county clerks whether they would let federal officials or a third party examine voting machines.

"That’s a hard stop for me," it quoted Carly Koppes, a Republican clerk in Colorado's Weld County, as saying. "Nobody gets access to my voting equipment, for security reasons."

The newspaper said the Justice Department had separately asked at least nine states for copies of their voter rolls, and that at least two have turned them over.

The dem leftists are not letting the voters have their way now. Leftists never do.

Interesting, MAGAists constantly advocate for measures to fight virtually non-existent voter fraud while never showing any evidence it is a systemic problem. It's almost as though there is another agenda behind their efforts.

Voter Suppression

You’ve been shown plenty of evidence. Like a good leftist you pretend it doesn’t exist.

Ballot harvesting? There has only been one case of that actually being prosecuted. Only one case that has been the driving force behind prosecution and overturning the results of an election. Impress me, tell me you know when and where that happened and what party benefited.

The dems dindunuffin!

This site....https://www.democracydocket.com/....has a pretty comprehensive listing of the many ways trumpery is trying to subvert elections. The trump regime represents a full, frontal attack on almost every aspect of our democracy with the full support of The Following.

Much of President Donald Trump’s anti-voting executive order has been blocked by judges. But it’s having an impact nonetheless — by encouraging and emboldening state-level Republicans to pursue its anti-democratic goals.

The March executive order purported to direct the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) to require documentary proof of citizenship on its voter registration forms, and to require state agencies registering voters to do the same. The order also aimed to pressure states to reject mail-in ballots received after election day, among other steps.

Courts quickly blocked those provisions, holding that Trump exceeded his executive authority in an area the Constitution left to the states and Congress. Other provisions of the order — including directives to make federal databases like the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) available to state election officials — were allowed to remain in effect.

But across the nation, GOP election officials and lawmakers are implementing much of the substance of Trump’s order — often describing strict new voting rules as efforts to comply with the presidential decree. And even before the order was issued, some states were already taking steps that closely mirror some of its key provisions.

Dems to Fight Texas’ ‘Illegal, Unconstitutional and Egregious Effort to Rig the Elections’

With Texas set to begin a special session that includes drawing a new congressional map next week, national Democrats say they’re exploring ways to stop the Republican plan.

The rare mid-decade redistricting push comes after President Donald Trump pressured Texas Republicans to redraw the state’s congressional map to help the party hold its slim majority in the House.

“All options will continue to be on the table as it relates to our efforts to push back legislatively and legally in Texas,” House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) said at a Tuesday news conference.

Republicans: "we just want to make sure only citizens vote.."

Democrats: "thats cheating!!"

Interesting, democrats always claim voter ID laws aren't needed because people provided proof of eligibility to vote when they register, but now you acknowledge that's not the case.
Also mail-in ballots after polls close should be rejected 100%, exception for deployed military, why would you not support such?

In some states, all that is required to register to vote is a utility bill.

Some states have automatic voter registration when people get their license.......and they give licenses to illegals. Tell me THAT wont have people slipping through the cracks.

If the dems can find a way to get illegals to vote, you can be sure they'll use them

Thanks for proving my point. You drove that point home time after time after time in 2024 and it got Trump re-elected with even the popular vote, all swing states, keeping the House, and winning back the Senate. At point will you realize that that strategy doesn't work? Mark Cuban and Barrack Obama, among a handful of others, have figured it out. When will you?
A 1.5 percent win, congratulations, you just squeaked by. Enjoy yer jerkyboy spliff.

What is the problem with non-citizens voting? I mean seriously. If they live here shouldn't they have a voice? And don't twist my words. I am not saying they should be allowed to vote I just want someone, anyone, to provide a good reason why they shouldn't vote. Should only property owners vote? Maybe women shoudn't vote. And blacks, who gave them the right to vote. I mean do you get the picture?

I mean I can see it now. Fourth grade, time to elect the class president. Oh wait, Johnny, you are in the class but you can't vote, you can't prove your citizenship.

I can handle ignorance, and I can handle arrogance. Hell, we all have our moments.

But arrogant ignorance? Dunning-Kruger? No. And it's far worse when it's the way we're "governed".

If we're going there, yeah, I'm against universal suffrage. I don't think it should be limited by race or gender, but property-owning... maybe so. The more "skin in the game" you have, the more your voice should matter.

Universal suffrage makes the system a "numbers game", where the takers typically outnumber the makers. Eventually, that involves the masses voting for "free stuff" at the expense of the makers.

If we're going to have universal suffrage, at the very least, non-citizens should not be allowed to vote. The reason: because a citizen has more reason to be loyal to the nation than a "visitor." It's no different from how you can only vote for the House district you live in. You can't just visit another district and then expect to be able to vote for that district's seat.
