The problem is not that these individuals don’t exist, it is that they do exist, perhaps not to the extreme you list. However, let’s talk reality.
The leader of the Democratic Primary right now is Bernie. Bernie wants two things, economically speaking. First, a $15 minimum wage. Now, we can all agree that the result of this dramatic increase in a minimum wage will result in higher costs can’t we? I mean, if McDonalds has to pay $15 an hour to the worker, and probably double that in various taxes and insurance costs, then someone is going to have to pay McDonalds for that right? The someone is you, the customer.
Now, the costs of everything will go up. But despite the fact that the $15 an hour person will not have any greater spending power, since costs of real products will go up, the cost of living will go up, the worker will actually be making less when you consider real purchasing power.
Because Bernie also wants to raise taxes. So the person making the minimum wage of $15 an hour, will be paying more in taxes. So now, that real purchasing power, is even lower. Every review says pretty much the same thing. So we know what will happen if Bernie gets his way. It won’t be an economic improvement for the most economically disadvantaged of our population. It will be the ruination of them.
Yet, the Left continues to argue this is the way forward, and we must do this, for the good of the people. Now, help me out here. If we know that disaster lays along that path, why are serious candidates for the Presidency still demanding that we take that path? I mean, it’s like knowing that Quicksand is right in front of you, and demanding that we all jump into the Quicksand together. It makes no sense.
There was a poll question, would you rather earn $50k a year if everyone else was earning $25k or would you rather earn $100k a year if everyone around you was earning $200k a year? Most of the people picked the first option despite the stipulation in the poll that everything would cost the same in both scenarios.
Think about that for a moment. More than half the people would rather lose half their money for the chance to earn more than others. That is nothing more than greed and envy. It is idiocy. Instead of providing better for your family, these college educated smarter than all of us put together folks, would not provide well as they could.
That extra $50k a year would translate to better food, better schools, better everything for your family. You just wouldn’t be as well off as the neighbors. But why should you care what the neighbors are doing?
This is where faith comes in. Do not covet your neighbors Wife, Property, etc. Live your life. Don’t worry about what they are doing.
So no, I am not impressed by the Radical Left. They are the poster children people mock. Because they do rush out and embrace ideals that they KNOW will lead to disaster. And if you argue they don’t know it, then they certainly aren’t as smart as those who oppose them.
