Blacks have seen the government as a last resort to stop the tyranny of white racists. You guys are not for limited government. Yep. I posted here, after Trump won his first season term, that I was concerned that he'd go so far that the ultimate response, at some point, would be a huge lurch back to the Left. And I sure as hell don't want that either.

Me neither. For the foreseeable future (IMHO) it appears we will be faced with 2 choices: bad and worse, with little or no cooperation to address the serious problems this country faces. We may very well lurch from one party to the other and fix nothing.

But he and they are going for all the marbles here. Full-on right wing authoritarianism. Pinochet. Orban, at least. So the chances that we end up in a more sane place just keep getting smaller with time.

All I can see is a future event that is disruptive enough to get everybody's attention regarding the governance of both parties. Maybe a recession or depression that is bad enough to change the attitudes and behavior in Washington. Or maybe a 3rd party evolves, I dunno. Could be awhile before we get to a sane place tho.

I don't think both parties are the problem. However, I do think we would not be hurt by changing our form of government to more of a parliamentary style whereby all parties get a chance, and coalitions must be created when there is no majority vote for a party. I am not opposed to third, or even more parties. But to say both parties are the problem when one is clearly pushing fascism is really inaccurate.

The problem I see with Democrats is tht they have not fought back strongly enough, and the problem I see with peope like Mac1958 is that he seems to want to accommodate fascism to try unifying the country, and that cannot be done.
