I have a large grassy, bushy, property filled with mice. There used to be a cat or two that prowled the property and I had no mice in my house. Since they are no longer here, I have many in my rather old house over the winter, so I keep a baited trap at all times in the kitchen. I'm going to try to reduce their numbers by trapping them outdoors this summer and fall. I set out four traps last evening and this morning all four had been sprung. One had a mouse, two had the bait eaten but no mice, and one was just missing. That indicates a lot of mouse activity around my house. I have ordered a dozen of those black plastic, quick release traps and will begin my campaign in earnest when they arrive. I'll update my progress as it goes along.
Trapping rabbits will continue as well. If the raccoons become a problem, I'll trap them as well.
