ā€œA victory of neo-conservativesā€ ā€“ thatā€™s how Ron Paul, a former member of the US House of Representatives and three-time presidential candidate, described the US strike on Syria, adding that he does not expect peace talks to resume any time soon.

ā€˜Theyā€™re terrified that peace was going to break outā€™ ā€“ Ron Paul on US Syria strike

Speaking to RT, Ron Paul said that there is no proof of Damascusā€™ guilt that could trigger such a rash and violent response from the US

Imagine that being terrified of peace, why if there were peace they couldn't go around murdering everyone and make up their great bs lies as to why they are killing people.

What Ron Paul and others would do well to remember is that after the Iraq war it was rumored that Saddam Hussien might have sent his WMD to Syria. If the reports are true than this possible attack of toxic gas possibly Sarin gas could very well be part of the missing WMD and there could be a lot of it still waiting in the wings for Assad to use. This is nothing to sneeze at and considering ISIS is in Syria this could become a mad dash to beat ISIS to the WMD. Then it really becomes the worlds problem because ISIS nut jobs would think nothing of using WMD anywhere on the planet.

The US is pretty adamant that we be the only nation allowed to do so.

There's always a rationale, endless war is what america is all about, the empire must be maintained.

So even though you know that ISIS is in Syria. That the possibility of WMD may be in Syria. Even though it could well be the WMD Saddam Hussien created and a large amount. Even though those weapons were alledgely used this week on Syrian's at the hands of their own government. That said WMD could fall into ISIS's hands if Assad should lose power in Syria's war, you suggest we should sit back and do nothing?

OK let's play it the way you want it. At the best Syria just gassed it's own people and there's another brutal dictator in the world following in the footsteps of Saddam Hussien and Adolf Hitler. At the worst ISIS gets their hands on Assads weapons and releases Sarin Gas in the NYC subway system with the potential to kill more than 9/11. Your choice. I think Trumps shot across the bow warning was the most reasonable response to Assad's cruelty toward it's own people. Just letting the monster know he's being watched.

The monster is being watched by a monster, perhaps someone should bomb us for poisoning those precious little children and babies, oh the little babies, in Flint, MI.

Has it ever occurred to you that many of our ā€œenemiesā€ are former partners/allies? Odd that.

To believe that you have to have been drinking a lot of Neo Con Kool Aid. If he had them and knew he was going to lose the war, why would he not have used them?

What are "US interests"? What are US interests in Syria?

If you look carefully you will learn that "US Interests" generally means that American corporations own a lot of businesses or manufacturing in that country and a war could cause these corporations to have their property damaged, destroyed or even worse, nationalized.

Lots of nations commit atrocities as bad as or worse than Assad. But there are no US Interests to protect so no troop for those beautiful babies.

He did have them,he gassed his own people, that's fact.

Halabja chemical attack - Wikipedia

Why didn't he use them? He was supposed to destroy them and probably did destroy some to appease the international community but I doubt he got rid of all of them. He was using them to keep control over Iraq and fend off Iran, not to fend off a US invasion. Also consider that when you are going against a super power that can turn your country into a glass parking lot, using Chemical weapons would be a mistake. We let Hussien know we were coming way before we got there giving him time to move his stockpile to Syria. If they have even a fraction of those weapons and ISIS gets them we're screwed. Unfortunately Assad having them isn't a much better option.

Yes but many of those nations don't have chemical weapons that could easily fall into the hands of a completely mercenary group like ISIS. I doubt the US wants to go after Assad over killing his own people because what are the odds Assad will attack the US with them. Our safety is our interest, not letting ISIS get ahold of those weapons, not necessarily to take them away from Syria is our interest. Taking them away from Syria would be the interests of the UN and international community at large. Letting Syria know Big Brother is watching and to knock that shit off hopefully will be warning enough for now.
