They should secede!

States like Utah, Texas, and Mississippi should secede from the union! These backwards states do not deserve to belong in a civilized 21st Century nation!
good thing you weren't around in Lincoln's day
At this point, he made a serious mistake.
what is this, dumb and dumber @ usmb?
Do you have an issue with the fact that we are now essentially two nations with competing philosophies?
Try reading early American history, specifically around and after the time of the Jay Treaty -- then :anj_stfu:
What part of being two separate nations concerns you? We used to look like this, what's the problem?

Pickering was just about blackmailing Monroe over a letter he wrote to Logan regarding relations with France and England during the debates over a few treaties, the British Treaty being the big one.

Jefferson was going around behind people's backs starting trouble as he and Hamilton were funding newspapers/rags to attack the opposition as selling out America and the ideals of the Revolution

Sedgwick appealed tp people's greed and vanity to swing votes and wrote about how disgusted he was with people who were against Hamilton and the Jay Treaty, but would sell their vote for other than patriotic reasons. Sedgwick also appealed to the unity of purpose and patriotism of some, but scoundrels like we have today existed then

What many had was a stake in the system working, the grand experiment

The flyover is a separate nation, and should be.

Who's gonna feed you stupid fucks?

You think an oil cartel is hard to deal with? Try a food cartel.

You can make do without abundant oil, try going without food for a few weeks and let us know what happens.

Military Force? That's a laugh. You pussies would shit your pants at the first sound of gunfire.

You better be careful what you wish for, dirtbag.
California can feed all the blue states by itself

Not without water dude.

Answer the question? The US should actually be four or five nations, that align with the needs of those regions BTW.

Utah is a pretty good place to live: I enjoy it very much.

California's great valley, properly irrigated, can feed the world.

Some of you are talking out of your butts.

Yep Nevada could totally control Calif. over water if they succeeded.

If the Feds actually limited themselves to what the Constitution lists as it's duties, there would be no need for that, because each State would be aligned with the needs of the people in each one.
It is the Federal Government that is causing the divisions in the fist place.

The Fed is trying to make one nation, out of what never should have been.

Yes
The one size fits all does not work and both parities do it.

Newsflash, liberals from California are flooding into Texas. OH SNAP!
Liberals? Link it...

Yep, knew that you couldn't.

I love ignorant liberal drones like you. The fact is liberals are more dangerous when they are well informed so its pretty cool how many liberal drones choose to remain ignorant. For example here are some headlines you obviously missed, I predict you will choose to go on being ignorant rather than face reality so I'm not too concerned about sharing this information with you.

Bloomberg - A Big Texas Welcome to Californians

Forbes - Californians moving to Texas by nearly 2 to 1 margin

Bloomberg - Where are Californians Going? Texas a state with no income tax leads as destination.

AOL Real Estate - People are leaving California for Texas in a big way

Huffington Post - Census survey shows Californians moving to Texas

NBC Los Angeles - California's Population is Moving Out, Texas most popular destination.

Forbes - Toyota tells California to fuck off (paraphrasing), moves to Texas after 57 years.

Sierra Star - California is moving to Texas

LA Times - Toyota to move 3,000 jobs to Texas

^^^ and that's how you bitch slap a liberal around!

Maybe you blue state people should worry about fixing your own states then we wouldn't have to listen to you bitch about red states while at the same time moving to them to find jobs and get away from your high taxes.

:wtf: Texas, Utah, and Mississippi producing alot of food these day?

States That Produce The Most Food Ranking 1 to 50
Just in case you aren't able to do a little research on your own:
Note:
#3 texas #24 Mississippi #37 Utah
Where is your state?

So you think that means that these three states are somehow supporting the dietary needs of the rest of the country? Texas ranks #2 in population, but #3 in food production. They seem to be consuming more food than they produce. In either event, we can definitively say that the United States won't starve if Texas, Utah, and Mississippi were to secede.

My state is number 1

No reason for them to. Ron Paul and the like may support secession, but they are hardly the majority in those states, nor are we are the point where any state feels it must secede - even over tense issues like same-sex marriage or abortion.

We've been here before, and it was settled during the civil war. States don't secede from the Union, without military consequences. Nor does the US government accept secession as having any kind of legal basis, and trying to argue it should be legal doesn't make it so.

Might have been different if the Confederacy had won the civil war, or if the states that would form the Confederacy decided against it and stayed within the union. But neither of those things happened, and a legal president was set - which basically means secede without Federal approval, and you get an army on your doorstep.

Sorry bout that,
