Leave it to the Marines to get the shitty end of the stick in Afghanistan. You have to keep in mind that all these deployments happened during the Hussein administration and apparently Barry didn't give a shit other than make a big deal of turning a traitor who deserted his post into a hero and entertaining his parents at the White House. Meanwhile the criminal conspiracy in the MSM took sides and insulted the Troops to defend their chosen politician despite evidence to the contrary. Propaganda is an amazing thing. Seal Team member Marcus Luttrell's book and later movie (Lone Survivor) was a classic example about how not to run a military mission but everybody was so enthralled about the new icons in the Military, the Seals, that it seemed like a victory. The dirty little secret is that previous presidents for decades have depended on non-military geeks and political hacks in the CIA to run military missions and Luttrell is an unfortunate typical example of how bad it can get during the conflicting missions between the intelligence community and the Military commanders on the ground. Vietnam was thoroughly screwed up by the CIA and so was the aftermath of Iraq and Afghanistan and the MSM continued to protect the political hacks and blame the enevitable mess on the Troops. Drain the swamp is the only solution to protecting the Troops from CIA meddling.
