I briefly met Steven Tyler on 57th Street in 2004.
I've been in the midst of reviewing the Aerosmith catalog, and this is from 1993.
According to the band's autobiography Walk This Way, the song was inspired by the 1992 Los Angeles riots.[1] Tyler also mentions in the book that the song features the sound of a bass drum he stole from his high school; four loud beats are heard from that drum in a pause between the final verse and chorus.

A day or so ago, I watched this description of the origins of Janie's Got a Gun from 1989.

And then this remake of Dream On in remembrance of the pressure cooker bombing of the Boston Marathon.

Next time you see him, tell him Jagger wants his lips back.
.

They're both going to have to fight Don Knotts for them.
