What fair method of taxing electric vehicle owners for road maintenance do you propose? Gas vehicles should be exempt. imo.

Why does there need to be a tax. With more electric vehicles on the road, that means less money spent to deal with emissions and pollution control. They can use the savings to maintain the roads.

Also, don't put it past our government to start looking at a new tax on your electric bill, or at pay charging stations to replace the fuel taxes they will be losing.

The government never met a tax they didn't like.
