In any event, the son of a woman of loose morals, and a vile scumbag of a man who didn't even have the decency to stay and support or protect for his own child nor the mother thereof. This is tragically common, and accepted, in modern society; not so much back in the 1770s. A child born under such circumstances would occupy the lowest of social classes back then, and have little opportunity to amount anything other than a common street thief.

And really, even in his own time, what skills or abilities has Barack Obama ever shown, that would have given him a chance at gainful employment in the 1770s? They didn't have much use for “community organizers”.

And this is without even thinking of the racial issues. As a Mulatto, he'd have been doomed to rejection both by white society and by the black culture of the time as well.

None of this is to say that it's fair that a child should suffer so much for who his parents were, but that was the reality back in the 1770s was what it was, and if Barack Obama had been born in that time, there is very little chance that he'd ever have amounted to anything.
