Who told you that we will get totally away from carbon producing energy sources before we develop the technology and have in place to supply our needs. I got a new truck a few months ago. They didn't even mention that it is a hybrid. It has more power, and better gas mileage, and didn't cost more than a standard gas only engine.

You got a link other than a conspiracy theory site? I've read a few of those crazy claims saying mining of the materials and manufacturing have a large carbon footprint. You have the same or larger emissions. Building IC Engines. have the same or more when you consider the emissions from drilling for oil and burning it.

The EU just decided that the whole EV concept is flawed and problematic, so they are rolling back standards now to make more room for the continued use and operation of ICE vehicles.
