You mean "If people were SIMPLISTIC they'd be able to express their definition of fair share"?

The problem is it's a super complicated thing, full of things that are impossible to calculate.

Take education. Everyone pays taxes that go towards education.

But how much does one individual benefit from the education system?

If you earn $40,000 a year and work for a company, how much, or what percentage, should that person pay towards education?

Their being educated up to high school level, for free, cost X amount of money. Should this person pay back what they spent? Pay back what they spent in real terms? Pay more than they spent? Pay less than they spent?

Then you have a man who earns $2 million a year, owns a company that employs a thousand people.

This person makes money based on their own education (unless they went to private school), but employs 1000 people who all were all educated in the education system. They're benefitting MORE from the education system than the man who earns $40,000 a year. So, shouldn't they pay a higher percentage towards the education system?

There are plenty of things like this. Things that are not easy to quantify.

You say it should be easy to quantify everything. I say it's not.

Isn't politics a situation where everyone is pushing for their own benefit? What should then happen is that you end up with consensus? That's how you end up with the fairest system.

However in the US it seems like this consensus doesn't happen.
Postmodern Teachers of English Wear the Dunce Caps

Your usage of the poorly educated Singular They is an example of the copycat collectivism that disqualifies people from any intelligent criticism of "education."

Couldn't you at least have written, "These people make money [AS IN COUNTERFEITING!] based on their own education"?

Hey stupid, Buffet pays accountants and attorneys to set it up so he pays as little as possible.

I gave you data for everyone.

You have what one guy claims about himself.

You lose…….again.

I would call him disingenuous because he deliberately pays as little as he can get away with paying. When he starts using the 1040 form and not itemizing deductions, I'll believe he's being serious.

We conservatives have but to only wait. Time and interest on the exponentially skyrocketing national debt will eventually put a stop to the insanity. All these scumbag politicians will run for the exits and America will have to rebuild from the rubble.
