I don't hate Catholics and don't make a habit of insulting them but it's my personal belief that they have strayed from the written Word of God and have adopted "traditions of men." If I wanted to have a beef with them ... that would be it.

Not really an insult...more like a big fat WTF?

Worshipping the woman chosen to be the mother of Christ, as if she were on par or just as important as God himself. She isn't. She was a vessel.

Worshipping a man in expensive cloth with bejeweled fingers and pointy "crown", groveling at his feet as if he were God himself. He isn't. He is just a man. Kinda like the golden calf Moses got so pissed off about while he was up on the mountain speaking to THE GOD himself.

Telling beads. Telling them what? Punishment by hail mary's. Why mary? God said put nothing ahead of him. Catholics do it all the time.

Confession. To a man. A non perfect man. Confession and asking forgiveness is for God's ears...not some dude in a cubicle.

I could go on, but I'm sure the sheep will be here soon to put me in my place for daring to utter such things.

I agree with most of what you say. However, In ancient times, Israel did have judges that helped the people stay on track with the Lord by asking them to repent. The people would come to them as they did with the bishops in the New Testament. Bishops are judges in Israel as well for the people to confess their sins and find out how they can make sure they have repented properly. Part of the repentance process is to make known our sins and then be reminded to pay restitution if possible to the one we injure as part of the repentance process. Also, to ask our Father in heaven in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness as well.

I can only speak for Germany now.

Germany used to be about 50 per cent Protestant and 50 per cent Caholic.
Not any more now - but so it was for a long time.

From my experience: In our region Protestants were NOT insulted.
They were seen as brothers and sisters in Christ, who just had made the slight mistake of not being Catholic.
And they were seen as Christians, no doubt about that!


Later in life I had to see that this tolerance was not answered by many German Protestants.
Catholics were freely insulted this way:

• Catholics are no Christians
• Catholics are liars
• Catholics are very stupid sheep

etc etc etc

It's not unusual for adherents of religions to attack rival religions. It's usually inferior religions attacking the dominant religion. It's a sign of respect so to speak.

There is something in common with people of religions who attack other religions--they haven't a leg to stand on. The only course of action open to them is to attempt to knock the legs of others out from under them so that both have no leg to stand on. It's the only way to even things when they are too proud to petition, "I have no legs. I want to walk."
