The US is falling behind China in technology

While the Right and Left are at each others throats with political quarreling and congress is sluggish on everything except trying to get reelected, the US is falling behind technologically.

Our interests in schooling seems to be centered on bickering about masks and vaccinations and dampened by too much bureaucracy and low teachers salaries. We should be doing what needs to be done to further US education.

China is vying to be the next top superpower and is on track of winning in a decade or so. What can we do?

Last year China produced 50% of the world’s computers and mobile phones; the U.S. produced only 6%. China produces 70 solar panels for each one produced in the U.S., sells four times the number of electric vehicles, and has nine times as many 5G base stations, with network speeds five times as fast as American equivalents.
China is poised to overtake the U.S. as the global leader in AI by 2030. U.S.-born students are earning roughly as many doctorates each year in AI-related fields as in 1990, while China is on track to graduate twice as many science, technology engineering and mathematics Ph.D.s as the U.S. by 2025. China now clearly tops the U.S. in practical AI applications, including facial recognition, voice recognition and fintech

"Falling behind???".... uh... China overtook America in technology advancement about 20 years ago.
Go to any major Chinese city and technology is everywhere. While U.S. cities are overtaken by the homeless and crime.
Which is what happens when city governments are leftist

There are no technologies at all, just assembly plants of Western companies and handicraft assembly. They buy microprocessors in Taiwan and in the USA.

It didn't help that Dick Cheney had China manufacture all of our military technology.
GW was the worst President, or shall I say Traitor In Chief, the US ever had.

Until China points to Russia making the Ukraine part of Russia and then China makes Taiwan part of China.

I don't think evil people can ever surpass good people in any sort of achievement. It's because their #1 business is deceit. Not dedicated work. The distractions of evil are many. That's why no mob boss was ever capable of running a legitimate enterprise. It's why no Communist country has yet been able to come close to America.

The hardest-working people in the world are those who do it in service of others. The laziest are those who only do for themselves. Self is the essence of atheism. There is not one single dictator who lives a pious life. Their existence is filled with harems, self-gratification, paranoia, and revenge. Good people are dedicated and single-minded.

Tell me, do you use a Chinese cell phone? Do you drive a Chinese made car to the airport, where you get in a Chinese made plane? Is your computer Chinese, and using a Chinese made operating system? If you are relaxing, do you use a Chinese game console?

Think back to the last 100 years of entertainment technology. From BW-DVD back to Laser Disk, VHS, cassette, reel to reel, even wire recorders. Were any of those designed in China? Radio? Television?

China will likely never be ahead, because they are not an originator nation. I honestly can not think of anything that has actually "come from China", since maybe gunpowder and paper. And under the CCCP, it is so risk-adverse and resistant to new ideas that I doubt that will change for generations. All they do is copy what others have made before them.

Hell, when it comes to game consoles, pretty much all they are making are inexpensive Android machines that run emulators for game systems 20+ years ago. Nintendo, original PlayStation, and things like that. Absolutely nothing original, just copying what others made before them (and largely abandoned). Their top computer CPUs are over a decade behind those designed in the US (and 2-4 times as much). They only recently finally got their space program to the point where the US was 60 years ago. And their aviation industry is only surviving because their own carriers are required to buy one of them unless they have nothing able to do the job.

And to give an idea how that is going, look at the Air China fleet. The official flag airline of the PRC. They have at this time 473 aircraft. One is from France, seven are made in China. The other 465 are a combination of Airbus and Boeing. If they are so far ahead, why is their own airline using 186 US made aircraft?

And the claim that Chinese ones are coming does not cut it. Just look at their current orders, they have 28 orders for the Comac ARJ-21 (essentially a copy of the venerable MD-80). And 47 orders from Boeing and Airbus.
