Explaining Trump's resource deal in the language of business:

1. Ukrainians was hired to go to war with Russia - and not just to go to war, but to win.
2. They were given uniforms, weapons, and money to do so.
3. The U.S. fulfilled its part of the contract, but the Ukrainians did not.
4.Now they have to pay a penalty.

After Donald Trump spoke to Vladimir Putin earlier this month, the White House claimed that “a future with an improved bilateral relationship between the United States and Russia has huge upside” and spoke of “enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability when peace has been achieved”.

Days later Kremlin representatives sat down with their US counterparts in Saudi Arabia and agreed a partial ceasefire suspending attacks on energy infrastructure. Putin claimed that he had issued orders to cancel an imminent strike. Later that very night Russian missiles rained down on Kyiv, killing a young family in their beds.

Who is surprised? Putin and trump have worked out a deal to repeat "cease fire, peace" over and over until the world and Ukraine relaxes for a moment. The Putin has the opportunity to intensify his attack on portions of Ukraine. trump needs a cease fire for his ego. But Putin plays the delay and lie game. He will drag his feet, as even trump admits, and say the right words...while at the same time order devastating strikes on civilians. Putin and trump cannot be trusted.
