A detailed look at what you do to stop a mass public shooter looking at specific actions that led to more deaths........the adults failed the students at Parkland.....a detailed look at how they failed to stop the shooter...

This video does a complete breakdown of the Parkland shooting and how the adults, in particular the police, failed the students...

The rifle did not matter.........as the video makes clear.....at 19:30 mark they discuss why the type of gun did not matter.....it was the amount of time the shooter was allowed to roam freely without being confronted that caused the death count....

This is what we used to do in school. The kids were sitting ducks.

We know a lot better now.....I hope

Police are trained differently now. For a long time, police procedure in an Armed Active Shooter scenario was containment and negotiation. Police would attempt to cordon off the shooter until special teams could deal with him

The thinking was that an active shooter in a hostage scenario would refrain from killing hostages if he needed them for leverage. We know now that, in many cases, the killing IS the point. The shooter isn't gathering hostages, he's gathering victims.

Now, in most police departments, the training is, if the shooter has killed and has access to other victims, priority is on taking out the shooter(s). Cordon and clear rooms one by one with whatever officers are on the scene until the threat is neutralized.

Waiting for special teams and command and control to be established prior to taking action gets people killed as with the AAO scenario in Parkland, Florida in 2018.

And that is why Parkland was so bad....the police did not immediately enter the building and confront the shooter, and none of the staff were armed....

It turns out that Parkland's sheriff department had been trained in the new methodology and the Sheriff took it upon himself to tell them to stand down and await special teams, in direct contradiction of departmental policy.

As a result, a lot more people died.

Most of these mass shootings share a common trait.

The perpetrator was a known nut job and had no business being near guns.
His parents knew, his neighbors knew, his teachers knew and yet, we still give him unrestricted access to the firepower of his choice.

I always knew…..is a common response after the shooting

We live in a stupid nation when it comes to guns. Oddly they are worshipped by many, and many are insecure men who would not fight but will easily shoot. A reading of the Brady stats below demonstrates the level of stupid unknown before now in human history.

"Fourteen-year-old boys are not part of a well-regulated militia. Members of wacky religious cults are not part of a well-regulated militia. Permitting unregulated citizens to have guns is destroying the security of this free state." Molly Ivins

"The shooter is almost always male. Of the past 129 mass shootings in the United States, all but three have been men. The shooter is socially alienated, and he can’t get laid. Every time you scratch the surface of the latest mass killing, in a movie theatre, a school, the streets of Paris or an abortion clinic, you find the weaponised loser. From Jihadi John of ISIS to Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris at Columbine, these men are invariably stuck in the emotional life of an adolescent. They always struggle with self-esteem – especially regarding women – and sometimes they give up entirely on the possibility of amorous fulfilment. There are different levels of tactical coordination, different ostensible grievances and different access to firearms, but the psyche beneath is invariably the same."

No....there is no such thing as "unrestricted" access to guns......in the Parkland shooting as the video points out.....the shooter was well known to both the police and the school administration...they even had a nickname for the shooter....he had over 33 contacts with the police, and committed crimes that would have flagged him on a background check...but the obama "Promise Program," tied the hands of the school and law enforcement and prevented them from arresting and convicting him...

You don't know what you are talking about....

Mass shootings have been occurring in Democratic shitholes for decades and leftists don't lift a finger to change it. Their "solution" is to take guns from people who live in suburbs. What a joke.

And men are the ones who normally stop these guys.....

over 320,000,000 million people in the country..........600 million guns in private hands........over 19.4 million Americans legally carry guns in public for self defense....Americans use their legal guns 1.1 million times a year to stop rapes, robberies, stabbings, beatings and murders....according to the Centers for Disease Control...

How many mass public shootings in 2019?

10

How many killed?

73

Deer kill 200 people.

Lawn mowers kill between 90-100 people.

Ladders kill 300 people.

19,000 Japanese people die every year in the bathtub.

Mass public shootings are not a problem when you actually engage your brain and understand the facts and truth.....

Yet still he was able to go out and buy a gun of his choice.
Whether you want to blame Obama or the NRA

There is no reason he should have access to so much firepower

These are what we call “accidents”
The overwhelming number of gun fatalities are “on purpose”

As the video points out, the type of gun did not matter......so you have no rational argument for banning any rifle. The thing that mattered was the cops not going in immediately to shoot at him.......that cost lives.

Your God, "the government," failed in parkland and in a majority of the other mass public shootings......normal Americans didn't shoot anyone.....

Yes.....accidents outnumber the intentional illegal use of these guns. Ban Deer, Ladders, lawn mowers and bathtubs.....save more lives.
