M: I came here for a good argument.
A: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!
A: Yes it is!
M: Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.
(short pause)
A: No it isn't.
M: It is.
A: Not at all.

Not too long ago, I turned my 8 year old on to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The kid was roaring with laughter. Felt awesome!![]()

jillian said:Was it John Cleese?![]()
jillian said:Agreed! Glad she liked it! The killer rabbit and the black knight were probably his faves. If your daughter liked Grail, maybe she'd like Princess Bride, too, if you haven't introduced her to it yet.
sitarro said:Good one Jilian, Fawlty Towers was absolute genius! Amazon has a boxed set of all 12 shows for around 36 bucks!
The Princess Bride is a classic, I turned my nieces on to that one on DVD a few years ago. My sister in law told me they watched it dozens of times.![]()

If you like John Cleese I couldn't recommend this set more, it is him at his hillarious self.....His wife Sybill is brilliantly played and the rest of the cast are perfect.
Awesome! The best was watching my boy walking around the house with a "sword", saying "Hello. My name is Inago Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die".... with the accent and everything.![]()
