I do wonder if Zelensky pulled a Stalin who demoted and eventually eliminated (if my memory is correct) one of his best military leaders because he thought that due to his immense popularity that he posed a threat to his crown.

Before Zelensky replaced his general, Ukraine was at least maintaining a stalemate even as that general made it clear that Ukraine didn't just need more money and weapons, they required more manpower.

In a just world Russia would lose this war. Ultimately though, there aren't winners in war, especially long ones.

If you seriously suggest that Moscow would allow/invite any outside military force to take just one step onto Russian territory , then you are beyond misguided . The idea of such an agreement is wrong and frankly childish .

The Mad Midget himself was the sole architect of the Kursk offensive and against his own military advice and against on- the -ground Americans -- others also presumably

The scenario / argument was elementary .
Ukraine could not attack north without re-deploying troops from the eastern front .
To do so would weaken the defense strength of the eastern front .

And that is exactly what happened .The so called UAF did precisely that and Russia has immediately made huge daily advances the length of the front . The so called UAF is being over run and close to total collapse .

Further , any incursion onto Russian territory would necessitate supply lines being kept open .

So the Russians"cheated " the mad midget by NOT moving any of its troops from around the Donetsk region to defend the Kursk initiative
They simply retreated to some extent until interior forces were ready to stop the Ukranian force, whilst making every attempt to trap them by cutting off their supply and re-inforcement lines .
Total disaster for Kyiv .
Ukraine has lost huge amounts of land down the eastern front and now their "Kursk task force" will be obliterated as the noose tightens .
All down to the Mad Midget .
And everybody knows it .
The Midget does not hold a single bargaining chip of any strength .
He is doomed and the only unknown is the timing and exact circumstances of his overdue disappearance .

Russia is building up huge extra troop numbers but whether the plans still include striking further west to secure Odessa and the other ports that serve the Danube basin is publicly unknown.

Perhaps they will strike West but imho they must be 100% confident of securing all their objectives by end - February , say , before NATO could do anything of real significance .
