The Supreme Court case that could turn homelessness into a crime

Being homeless shouldn't be a crime.

But, in today's world being homeless should be a crime.

The only way we will fix our problems is by making tough decisions that are going make things hard on a few in order to make things better for the many.

Our society is becoming complacent, lazy, weak, soft, dumb and lacking ambition. We need a return to American morals, values and standards.

The only way we will ever get rid of the homeless, crime, criminals, drugs, all the illegals pouring in, protestors interfering with people's lives and so on is to crack down on it all with a heavy hand.

If we create a society of strong willed, smart, independent people then the homeless will dry up over time.
We will always have the poor amount us.-Jesus Christ.

Siege heil.

It is a crime to speed on the city street, it is a crime to jaywalk on a city street, it is a crime to pee on the grass in a public park.

Homelessness should definitely be a crime. The question then becomes what is the penalty.

We have courts for felonies, misdemeanors, and infractions. We have special drug use courts. We have family law courts. Why not have a homelessness courts.

Family law court have mediators to resolve differences outside the courtrooms

Drug courts have medical treatment and psychological programs to deal with drug use problems instead of jail.

What is wrong with homeless courts?

There are separate jails for felons serving a year or more in jail and misdemeanors. County jails and State prisons. Even Federal prisons. We have half way houses. Programs to do community service instead of jail time

Why dont we make homelessness against the law, courts specifically for homelessness, programs to help those who are homeless. "Jails" to house the homeless?

The jail be a super high rise building in downtown los angeles, where there is a place to sleep, eat, clean your clothes, get an education. A place for a family or a place for a vagrant. A place where we determine the person can be a part of society or a person must be transferred to a mental care facility.

Yes, homelessness should be a crime, and Justice is served when the sentencing fits the crime, the sentencing would be this first step in helping those who need it, want it.

Of course some nuts prefer to live on the street, we cant save everyone, but that person can be arrested, jailed, tried, washed down with a firehose, vaccinated, and sent to homeless jail where they will have to report daily, maybe hourly, to prevent them from destroying anybody's life other than their own.

Gonna havta build "camps" to hold them then.

That ought to be pricey ....and ugly

nope, dont need to build camps, your lack of intuitive thinking, your lack of reasoning when faced with a problem is rampant throughout the democrat party supporters.

Democrats have no place in the world, they have no idea how to fix the problems they create

It would be like trying to stop people from smoking weed by making it illegal.

People sure do love their big authoritarian government though.

Why does that person have the right to occupy a public space and ruin it vs my right to use it as it was intended?

And this is enforcement at the State level, so "big government" accusations ring hollow.

My house burned to the ground six weeks ago what shall I be charged with for being homeless?

It is abortion and homosexuality that are the ROOT.
The family is decaying and homelessness is one of its more evident and speedy results.

WE look to low birthrate Japan and see it also.
Kodokushi (孤独死) or lonely death is a Japanese phenomenon of people dying alone and remaining undiscovered for a long period of time. attributed to economic troubles and Japan's increasingly elderly population

Biden is doing his best to destroy social fabrics and any sense of well-being. He lets a 72-year old grandmother go to jail for silently praying outside an abortion clinic and does nothing about BLM riots.

“A 2004 UK study reported that the rise of divorce contributed to more homelessness in people over the age of 50. A news report on the study stated that over 27,000 householders became homeless directly because of relationship breakdown”.

Divorce often leads to many legal issues, which puts a strain on an individual financially, as well as emotionally. Some of these marital issues are due to domestic violence. If the situation involves domestic abuse, the victim wants to get out as soon as possible and quickly. This leaves them vulnerable, with barely anything and in a panic. That also increases the odds of experiencing homelessness.

If we create a society of strong willed, smart, independent people then the homeless will dry up over time.

So, we need the Govt to become oppressive and overbearing so that we can be come a more strong willed, smart, independent people.

Makes perfect sense.

China makes.the homeless a crime. Is this the path we want society to take? Billions given to California for the issue,.where are the receipts?..Furthermore, if they cant.be produced,.where are the charges of corruption.and theft?
China takes drug users off the streets. They are given medical rehabilitation. Which really means used as slave labor in a mega factory making cheap junk.

Such good Christian folks.
Christianity has nothing to do with this. We are a secular nation and even the jesus character never addressed this issue.

Homelessness need not be a crime but we know it worked well in the not so distant past to enforce vagrancy laws and enforce rules for public spaces.

Thanks to progressive politicians in many cities they are destrpying communties by allowiing the homeless to run amok.

In the past such people would be driven out of the public spaces by law enforcement and of course they would end up in homeless shelters which we have in excess. Most sit empty until a bunch of immigrants show up who then demand hotel rooms on the tax payers dime. They sit empty because the homeless hate staying in them for the simple reason that shelters have a few basic and reasonable rules such as no drugs or drinking.

It is absolute insanity and immoral to make the tax payers fund homeless shelters and then watch as the homeless ignore the shelters and instead camp out pollute and destroy the parlks and city streets which were also funded by the tax payers. All the whle the homless have no job and so do not contibute a dime,

It is not harming the poor to make them get off the fucking streets and into the shelters provided by the tax payers
