Yeah, the GOP has been practicing with Boehner behind closed doors for a week to scowl at the SOTU. I must admit I find THAT funny.

Last night I watched Hanity and I wondered exactly what he was doing with his Atlanta focus group. Everytime anything was asked about obama and his speech it was soundly put down as either lies or won't happen or doesn't go nearly far enough or just plain leftest BS. Almost 95% of those in this focus group who Hanity basicly was touting as a fair test of people who live in Atlanta or the country saw The Obama SOTU speech and his policies he talked about as if not terrible were at least unbelievable.

Then I turn on the real TV and find out that anywhere from 75 to 92% of the population polled said just the opp.

All I ask is who the **** do you think your kidding Shawn. has got to take hanity and his followers into one of these groups

But Obama did have his moments at the one black-tie dinner with McSame during the campaign. I forget what it was called. He did some self-deprecation about The One meme, and it worked.

But the clip in the OP did not. At all. It reminded me of the pigs laughing at the horses plowing the field.

Last night I watched Hanity

And that's where I stopped reading.

The guy is just a squishy red nose short of being a professional clown.

I never watch the talking heads, I don't think i can even pick Hannity out of a line up.


But Obama's speech; after comparing it to his actions the past 2 years; It's mostly political BS.

Obama was runnig for office and sought to appear centrist. Many of us pointed out he had very leftwing advisers and friends. He frequently had to distance himself from them (Wright, Ayers and others). Clearly he had a socialist agenda, but in order to gain office, needed the appearence of the center.

Once in office, he persued that agenda, at times throwing Pelosi to the wolves. Don't try to paint Pelosi as some kingpin here. She willing participated and has similiar views, but Obama was and is the leader.

No, I do see Pelosi as being the real power behind the push. Gradually, Obama started to very slightly distance himself enough to say "I want healthcare because it's what I promised" but that was probably in large part due to Pelosi having to turn her attention to her own campaigning. Obama never seemed very comfortable with the way things were going early on, and always seemed like he at best only half way believed what he was advertising. Meanwhile, Pelosi was slipping free condoms into the stimulus package because it "cut costs" over paying the welfare benefits for new children. Say what you want about Obama, but you can't possibly paint him as being stupid enough to come up with, or back, shit like that on his own accord.

Obama's troubles usually come back to his humungous ego. His intellectual dishonesty had become obvious. His ineffectiveness predictable.

I would rather spend my time listening to Levin or Limbaugh, in that order, as an after thought I include Lou Dobbs.

Hannity has always been a fifth or sixth as far as far as conservative hosts are rated in my book. Levin, Limbaugh, Dobbs, Savage, all before Hannity.

An overwhelming majority of Americans approved of the overall message in President Obama’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday night, according to a CBS News poll of speech watchers.

According to the poll, which was conducted online by Knowledge Networks immediately after the president’s address, 91 percent of those who watched the speech approved of the proposals Mr. Obama put forth during his remarks. Only nine percent disapproved.

Last year, 83 percent of viewers approved of Mr. Obama’s State of the Union remarks.

This year, 82 percent of those who watched the speech said they approve of the president’s plans for the economy, up from 53 percent who approved before the speech. Eighty percent said they approved of Mr. Obama’s plans for the deficit — in contrast to 45 percent before the speech. Eighty-three percent approved of Mr. Obama’s proposals regarding Afghanistan, which received only a 57 percent approval rating beforehand.

The sight of Democrats and Republicans sitting side by side gave speech watchers more confidence about the possibility of bipartisan cooperation: 62 percent said they expect more bipartisanship now than in years past.

In his speech, Mr. Obama outlined ways to limit federal spending and reign in the deficit. Of those watching, fifty-six percent said they think the president’s economic plans could reduce government spending; 43 percent were not persuaded.

The president had more success convincing viewers that his economic proposals would lead to job growth and increased success on the international playing field: 75 percent of viewers said they thought the president’s plans would make America more competitive in the world economy, and 75 percent also said they thought the plans outlined in his speech would create jobs. That’s up from 55 percent before the speech.
