The Stanley Cup Playoffs

Canes gets the cup after 20 years, Staal well deserved hardware

Bussi? undrafted, did not play all year and has awesome numbers

that's the real unsung hero

I thought the cane had a top goalie all year......got hurt?

thoughts?
Yeah, Bussi failed to get picked up for the majors over several drafts. He spent years in the minors and was finally picked up by the Panthers, but when they tried to send him down to the minors again, the Hurricanes bought him as a third stringer.

Bussi won 10 of his first 11 NHL games. A record.

During this year's playoffs, the top goalies suffered injuries which took them out of the game. Bussi stepped into the spotlight and the rest is history.

Everyone is talking about the NBA playoffs and the World Cup, but I bet the Stanley Cup will get ten seconds on the national news. :(

yep, it's just hockey........who watches real skill of people who skate, hit, use a stick on hard rubber to make point to point passes and shoot the puck 80+ past a goalie with gear and a glove.....

kick a ball......throw a ball......inferior

Not one word about the Stanley Cup on the news today. Not a word.

The Google News home page? Nothing.

They've been talking about the NBA and the World Cup for WEEKS. They are STILL talking about the Knicks. But nary a word about the Stanley Cup playoffs.

Carolina versus Vegas.

The NBA equivalent of New Orleans versus Memphis.

Hockey suffers as a national sport and is more of a regional or local sport in our nation. In that it garners much talk in the areas they are located.

This Carolina team was dominant this postseason, they won the Cup in only 19 games, the only other team to have won the Cup in less than 20 games was the '88 Oilers (18), who some have said was the best team Gretzky played on.
