Let us never forget the injustices surrounding the legislation of Obamacare. Laws were broken, people were bribed, Americans were lied to, and the checks and balances of power were breached.

Let's start with the lies that Obama used to sell his health care plan.

1. Obama said, "Now, if you have or had one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law and you really liked that plan, what we said was you can keep it if it hasn’t changed since the law passed,".

Policyholders were in for a big shock when their policies were suddenly cancelled following the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Millions of insured became uninsured from cancellations or when they discovered their insurance premiums tripled. The new legislation made it virutally impossible for insurance companines to continue their current plans

2. Obama said that health care costs would go down. Obama stated that health care costs "could save families $2,500 in the coming years — $2,500 per family"

The deception that health care costs would go down by $2,500 annually per family has already been realized from this Barack Obama scandal. Although some people who previously didn’t have health insurance and others with entitlements have benefited, average Americans saw their costs double or more. They either switched to inferior plans or went without health insurance.

3. Obama promised no new taxes on the Middle Class. Obama said, "I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes."
Raising taxes on the middle class was something Obama always promised he would never do. In fact, the language in the Obama health care plan made it sound like the Cadillac tax on employers that provided generous health care plans would tax insurers. As Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber explained, the tax on insurers leads to higher costs from the insurers, which means more taxes on the middle class, as well as increases in insurance rates.

4. Obama sold the country Obamacare on the premise that it was not a tax. In fact, Obama vowed never to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000. However, the Supreme Court said otherwise, it was a tax just to make it half way Constitutional. It later became the largest tax on the Middle Class in US history

5. Obama also made promises that the hearing for a new health care law would be for all to see instead of behind closed doors. During the campaign to become President Obama regularly promised to broadcast all negotiations on health care on C-SPAN, putting the entire process of pounding out health care reform out in the open. (That promise applied to the now-completed processing of forging House and Senate bills, too.)

However, this promise was broken as we wound up with hearings were done behind closed doors. But we now know why, don't we? It was in order to bribe members of their own party to vote for the legislation. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) offered the $100 million in Medicaid funding, also know as the "Cornhusker Kickback," to Congressmen Ben Nelson from Nebraska if he would vote for the legislation. There was also what is known as the Louisiana Purchase. $300 million of Medicaid funds was pegged for disaster relief for which Louisiana is the only state eligible. This was all offerred to Sen. Mary Landrieu (D).

6. Then there was Senator Ted Kennedy who was diagnosed with a brain tumor who relaized that he would have to step down soon and also knew that his vote might be needed in order to help pass Obamacare. So what does Ted do? He asks to change the laws so that there would not be an election that might put in a candidate who votes against Obamacare.

However, his attempts fell short and Scott Brown ran on the platform of stopping Obamacare. think of it, the most liberal state in the union who had their own Romneycare and they voted to stop Obamacare by electing Stott Brown?

7. To avoid the vote of Scott Brown, the Democrats elect to use a process called Reconciliation.

May we never forget how democracy is trashed by those in power when it conflicts with their agenda.

May we also find a way to keep an accurate record of abuses such as these and continually remind each other of them. For today's Progressives don't burn books, they just rewrite history.

I sound like someone who's amused at how many people in this forum are unaffected by the PPACA, but get all upset about it anyway.

How can anybody be "unaffected" by Obozocare when they are faced with the option of paying skyrocketing premiums for insurance that is practically worthless due to skyrocketing deductibles, or paying a hefty fine for not having it???

Either way, they lose where some lazy, shiftless Liberal can get a free ride.....

The ink is not even dry on the legislation that was signed into law and now both partys want to do away with it?

Who is unaffected by it when we are all required to have health insurance now coupled with rising rates and longer waits to see the doctor?

I'm afraid that if Dims want to sell the American people another bill of goods, namely a single payer system, they will have to lie like Obama did and tell them that it will be cheaper and better and they will get to keep their same doctor etc. That's where Bernie fails. He comes out and admits it will cost us all more.

Epic fail!!!

Gruber said Americans were stupid and that helped pass the bill. Unfortunately he was right.
On the Left we've got a Socialist pushing the policies that have made Venezuela an economic powerhouse, and an old white woman whose only consistent belief is that she should be president. On the right we've got a short fingered vulgarian who gets his foreign policy ideas from watching TV and curses a lot.
Someone will get single payer through because Americans are stupid and the Press is in the tank.

I'm in the process of signing up now. What a nightmare.

Trying to find somebody that speaks fluent English is the first problem. Trying to find somebody smart enough to communicate with is the second.

So I call these jokers AGAIN and some minority tells me I never called before. BS, I've called several times and was either disconnected or they said they would call me back. After about ten minutes, he tells me the only way to get singed up is to re-apply. Okay, so after about ten minutes doing that, he asks for my phone number. After I gave it to him, he says 'OH! HERE YOU ARE."

He stated the last idiot I talked to spelled my name wrong. Okay, fine, change it to the right spelling. Not so fast.

Now he tells me that in order to proceed with the application, I have to TELL HIM how the last idiot I talked to spelled my name. HTF should I know? You're asking me to tell you how the last idiot F'd up? He said "Yes."

So I asked him if he could tell me what I had for dinner the night before? He told me that was impossible. Okay, well if you can't tell me what I had for dinner last night, how am I supposed to tell you how the last worker spelled my name wrong????

It was like a comedy skit or something. Long story short, it took an entire hour before we finally got all this cleared up. During the process, I told the worker several times that this is a prime example why the government should not be handling things they are not capable of.

The Republicans saw that health care was a big issue during the 2008 election campaign and chose to offer nothing clear.

They already support the Medicare/Medicare Supplement/Medicare Advantage system. All they had to do was drop that silly, arbitrary 65 age requirement and expand it to all.

Poof. A good, already-functional and effective blend of public foundational coverage and free market competition and innovation. There it is.

But no. The GOP should look in the mirror. Okay, so here we are. Enjoy.

If the Republicans expanded Medicare to all, most of the health facilities would have to close, then what would we do?

You do realize that the government underpays our health providers, don't you? In many cases, they only pay 2/3 of the bill for their patients. Providers are able to recoup those losses on private pay and private insurance patients. That's why when you see a clinic or hospital close, it's usually in lower income areas where most of the patients are on Medicare or Medicaid.

PHYSICIANS REFUSE MEDICARE PATIENTS

I thought conservatives were all about personal responsibility?

This is making everyone go buy insurance. No more deadbeats weighing on the system.

Unless of course, you were one of those deadbeats....
