.Your Latin is fine!![]()
So let us pray .....
It is indeed fine, but there is so little of it.
.
Jesus is the English translation of the Greek "Ἰησοῦς" (Iēsous), found in the ancient Greek which was a transliteration of the Hebrew name "Yeshua." 'Yeshua' means rescuer, deliverer, savior.By ordinary Christians.

.So let us pray ....
Pater noster, qui es in caelis, santificetur nomen tuum .....
Our father, thou art in heaven ....
.... and give us today our daily bread ....
adveniat regnum tuum
fiat voluntas tua
sicut in caelo et in terra.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
On earth as is is in heaven
.
..... and give us today our daily bread ...
German: unser täglich Brot gib uns heute ....
.... und vergib uns unsere Schuld ....
...And forgive us our trespasses...
Et pardonne-nous nos offenses

.German is often a bit like English, isn.t it?![]()
Yiddish is very much like German, with a bit of Hebrew and Russian.
I'm afraid that all of my language study has been in romance and Indo-European languages.
Some Japanese, because of my husband's origins.
Once in a while, I will get a small flash of understanding of German, mainly because I have been around Jews who speak Yiddish.

Yes, there is not just one right name, but many right names.Jesus is the English translation of the Greek "Ἰησοῦς" (Iēsous), found in the ancient Greek which was a transliteration of the Hebrew name "Yeshua." 'Yeshua' means rescuer, deliverer, savior.
Many other names are attributed to him: "Lion of Judah", "Immanuel", "Alpha and Omega", "The Word", "Light of the world", "Messiah", 'the Christ", "The Way, the Truth, and the Life", etc.
So in my opinion there is no necessary 'proper' name to acknowledge 'God with us' so long as He is afforded proper respect.
