Testing doesn't get rid of Covid, but it gives you a much better idea of how many people really have it, how many people show no symptoms, and it can only lower the morbidity rate. I also support more clinical testing, for instance, to massively infect you, then study how it moves through your body and what it does so we can better understand how to keep others safe. And that does not take into consideration that there are private companies that do testing.The US testing program is very robust, and is still growing.

You can have knowledge of a lot of foolishness too. That's what empty rituals are. Step on a crack break a grandmother's back. Knowing the ritual doesn't actually prevent grandma's back from breaking. Avoiding cracks might let you feel like you are saving the nation's elderly from an epidemic of broken backs. It just makes you feel less powerless. That's what universal testing and wearing masks does. It makes you feel less powerless. That's all it does.
