The Republican/Conservative Misery Offensive.

Well it's become quite clear that Republican/Conservatives took the information gleaned by their multiple losses and are using it to keep up a "Misery Offensive". Basically that's the only thing that worked in 2010. That's when Conservatives convinced most of the nation their lives were going to be SO MISERABLE as a result of Democratic policies that they had better elect bat shit crazy tea party candidates to thwart the effort. This produced the Sequester, 42 attempts to repeal the ACA, a government shutdown that cost the economy 24 billion dollars, 55 actual bills being passed through congress (A record low), a slowing of hiring, cutting of vital services to the needy nation wide and 11 million people with legal statuses in limbo. They did all that, and turn around blame Democrats. Well that didn't work in Virginia or New York which both went Democrat. The only Republican winning big was Christie and that may well be because he showed he could work with Democrats to solve problems.

This should have been an indication that making life miserable for people and then blaming your opponents is not good governance and doesn't win elections. There are several bills in the house that if passed would make life better for people. Raising the minimum wage, the immigration reform act and the farm bill. What do Conservatives want to do?

Keep on making people miserable.

Let's see how that works come 2014.

The economy is still in the tank, unemployment is still high and the jobs added are lower paying jobs, people are working two and rap three jobs to make ends meet. The middle class is going to be burdened with Obamacare. They are going to need to take more money out of their pocket. The Christmas shopping is a bust. We find out that the President lied about keeping your insurance. We are printing tons of money, which is going to cause greater inflation. Our energy costs over the last five years has over doubled. Food Stamps is up, unemployment for minorities is skyrocketing. More people depending on government, more people disabled.

Tell what great things are taking place? Shovel ready jobs?

And this completely..almost to a fault, ignores that fact that we nearly lost two very big parts of the economy in 2009, the financial sector and the auto industry.

What's good? Unemployment is getting lower, more people are getting jobs, manufacturing is coming back to the US.

What's your focus? The president "lied" about keeping your insurance, because policies issued AFTER the law was passed didn't comply with the law as it was being rolled out.

Energy "costs" did double over the last "5 years" but over the last decade have been pretty much the same. They pummeled 5 years ago because the economy went bust. But they are back up to where they were when Bush took office. And in case you didn't notice, the financial collapse cost the economy millions of jobs. Hence the need for unemployment and food stamps.

And the shovel ready thing is always a novelty. Republican governors were given control over the funding they were given by the Stimulus. What did they do? They used them to keep public employees funded instead of infrastructure building. Why? Because they wanted to keep their tax cuts in place.

Nothing..and I really mean nothing you guys talk about will bring back jobs, raise wages or invigorate the economy. And since 2010? The folks you elected having been doing everything in their power to sabotage the economy.

So how many more years does your miracle need? He told us under four years, did he lie about that also?

Feel free.

I will give you that much of the MSM has been in collusion with the bad news boys. But they usually relent once the truth comes out.

But you folks cherry pick those stories without the updates.

It's generally pretty cool busting up these things.

But in the big picture, the failure of people to actually dig a little deeper allows for things like mortgage backed securities, which costs us all really really big.

Collusion that's what reporting bad news about Obamacare or other Obama policies is? Yet when they do that with Republican administrations I bet you call it journalism and great reporting. One of the big selling points Obama used for passing Obamacare was if you like your current insurance or doctor you will be able to keep them period a statement the President made many, many, many times leading up to the roll out then the truth came and revealed that to be false. We also now know that the reason those plans were not grandfathered was because the regulations were rewrote making it all but impossible to keep them. Since you like updates here is one the employer mandate which was supposed to take effect next year has been pushed back to 2015 after next years midterms coincidence maybe but given how the individual mandate has gone I'm highly skeptical. Does anyone really think the employer mandate would be getting pushed back past a election year if the individual mandate roll out had been a success instead of a disaster?

Actually they don't.

You do of course remember the Iran/Contra affair right?

Nobody said a word until it became SUCH a big scandal, they had too.

Same with Reagan's financial meltdowns.

Same with Bush's little snit about buying a big ass bag of crack "right across the street" from the white house.

Same with Bush jr. run up to the Iraq war. (In fact, the New York Times had to apologize about that one).

But they regularly go after Liberal politicians. And very quickly.

Reagan, Bush, Bush jr. all had "honeymoons" with the Press after they took office.

Clinton and Obama did not. The bad press started on day one.

Erm..no.

The hostages were release an hour after Reagan's inauguration..no one questioned why.

What did Obama have to deal with?

We didn't go through "depression" part 2.

I don't think you know how bad things were.

Seriously.

....and one has to love that stupidity about the Press being unusually "harsh" on the Boi King and Serial Adulterer Slick Willy.

Those are the last two democrats in the white house.

And..both times the government was shutdown.

Except that....that has nothing to with anything you said.

Dems do not get pressured by the Press until they fuck up so badly that it MUST be reported...you know...like the ACA killing 5 million plans.

Apparently Obama didn't know how bad things were, he was the idiot that made the promise. He isn't to bright is he?

And in a thread about conservative misery, the left sure is heaping it on and placing blame in this thread. So, how many years for this to turn around? I say 2017 or 2018.

And thanks for all those great positives you listed.

The worst congress in history right after Bush, the worst president in history. Remember when Republicans PROMISED the Bush Tax Cuts would create jobs? Remember when they said Iraq would pay for itself. Fucking liars.

...and you are just as angry at your Liar in Chief?

Obama's policies are what's making people miserable. The US economy is fucked like a prison gang rape, and everything Obama and team are doing is making it worse.

You can't talk people into misery, they know it as it smothers their hope. It's real.

Just like FDR made the depression worse, so little Black Sambo does the same. We won't rebound for decades, if ever. I suppose all we can hope for is a new World War, or a new Black Plague.

Market soared on jobs report.

Which indicators are you using? Other than the normal racist bullshit.

the market went up becasue the jobs report was nice but still nothing to write home about, that and the gdp # which was blown up by a huge inventory stock, and the fed is not planning on tapering, even with 200K jobs "created"....

when the market hit a record in 2007, we heard plenty about the misery of the middle class, not being part of it yada yada...so ?

Most of those plans were sold AFTER the ACA was passed.

Additionally, plans were killed all the time prior to the ACA being passed for pre-existing conditions or hitting the cap.

Where's was Conservative outrage over that?

Oh yeah..here it is.

5.5 million people losing their insurance is misery. The average American paying 41% more for insurance with much higher deductibles is misery. Five years of a crappy Obama economy is misery.

Those are the facts. No amount of spin on your part will change it. There is no use trying to run from your record. You're gonna have to live with it. :)

First off..get rid of the obstructers in Congress.

That should be the Democratic focus from here on in.

Stop playing like these guys are reasonable and can be turned around.

The Obama Campaign machine really is a good one.

And these guys have nothing to show for their time in Congress.

They are very vulnerable.

Virginia wasn't a fluke. They are dependent on government spending. The whole economy centers around the military spending.

If the government stopped the sequester, started spending on infrastructure, block grants to hire public employees and raised the minimum wage?

Those things ALONE would take this economy over the top.

Not according to any known data that exists. In fact, it is exactly the opposite. But, hey, if it makes you happy, keep telling yourself that. :)

What data?

It's not any data that you folks are interpreting correctly.

Many folks that say they don't like the ACA will also say they wanted single payer.

Additionally when asked if they want it repealed? They will say no.

And among that hate it..basically hate it, because of who passed it.

When the question is phrased differently, would you rather have the ACA or do you think lifetime caps are a good thing? Or do you want insurance companies to be able to kick people out of their plans for having pre-existing conditions?

They respond favorably to the ACA.

Seriously..I hope the people running, read "data" the same way you folks do in 2014.

Should be a fun night!

Did you really just type this?
The ACA killed ALL individual pans...the grandfathered plans die next year.....virtually NO Individual Plan was compliant...the by LAW had to be cancelled...seriously.....your partisanship makes you look very bad.

Additionally, plans were killed all the time prior to the ACA being passed for pre-existing conditions or hitting the cap

Um...no.

Hitting the "cap" was very rare...and NOBODY'S plan could arbitrarily be "killed".
One of two things had to have happened, fraud or the plan itself had to be cancelled for EVERYONE on the Plan in the State.

The worst congress in history right after Bush, the worst president in history. Remember when Republicans PROMISED the Bush Tax Cuts would create jobs? Remember when they said Iraq would pay for itself. Fucking liars.

Seriously. Has the Boehner(R) Teaparty House broke through the 8% approval ceiling yet?

Nice attempt to distract. But it wont work. Obamacare is not going away in 2014.- it will only get worse. It's a slow motion train wreck. All the republicans have to do is sit back and watch it implode.

2014 will be a landslide for the GOP.

Distract from what?

You guys said the ACA was "costing" jobs.

You see the November jobs report?

November jobs report: Unemployment falls to 7% - Dec. 6, 2013

There's been steady GROWTH since Obama took office.

So are you lying?

Far left propaganda alert!
