The real problem with cloaking Police brutality in racism

We don't need police reform. We need crook reform.

Anyone who thinks fighting it out with cops is going to end well for them shouldn't be allowed to pollute the gene pool.

You can say that all you want, but there seems to be more training needed for the LEO's. Of course, there will always be a few bad apples that you will never find in the barrel.

This thread supports your notion:

But within the total of those that are killed by Police, there is always room for improvement because people do make mistakes.

Oh there’s a problem with cops. Sadly those who refuse to believe this is a problem, only perpetuate it.

White people love the police state because they think they are being protected by it. Black folks know it for what it is, a weapon pointed at poor people.

Tell Joe that. I don't think he was aware of that back in the 90's when he wrote some pretty shitty legislation.

Police are trained, and re-trained again and again. Policies and procedures are always in a constant state of flux, responding to new realities.

The one thing that never changes is that there will always be a very small number of people who will believe they can fight their way out of a situation that could be resolved peacefully and amicably.

The 90s was thirty years ago. In the meantime there has been an explosion in the prison population because of politicians thoughtlessly pandering a get tough on crime agenda have exacerbated the problem beyond all reason.

America isn't a police state.
The millions of Americans helplessly ensnared in the criminal justice system may differ with you.

We could just eliminate laws and solve the problem. No laws, no crime.
Ludicrous suggestions are no help.

America isn't a police state.
Of course not.

Laws don't care about time. They are upheld until changed. They were put in place by Biden and his cohorts. That's what led to where we are now. Stop trying to put lipstick on a pig.

First what we see in this article is not a failure in training. It's a failure in hiring. It's a propensity to hire psychotics as police officers. That's the only explanation. Some take the lone route. Such as Jeffery Dahmer or Ted Bundy. Others take the route of being a police officer. It's the only way to explain the callous disregard for taking a life we see here.

It's the only way to explain a Philip Brailsford. It's the only way to explain a Derek Chauvin. Staring blankly into a camera as a man dies with his knee on his neck.

One police force did do it's job and deemed Timothy Loehmann unfit to be a police officer. A few others turned him down also. But there were two forces still willing to hire him. One even after it was proven he had no problem with lying. The person who hired him didn't do so because a lack of training.

Then we have the system above them filled with people who put their ambitions above the lives of individuals. A few people being killed or unjustly sent to prison is a small price to pay for them becoming a judge or Senator. Just look at Kamala Harris for a perfect example of this.

Then we have a huge problem with far too many thinking the mighty dollar is more important than people. If you have money you can get away with things that those without money can not. You can hire well placed, well connected lawyers.

Then there is racism. No one is arguing that the problem is only racism but it most certainly plays a role. If you think there is no connection to a Derek Cauvin and his union head wearing a white power patch, you are wrong.
Nobody calls the police on a white man walking down the street with a hat on like someone did with Elijah McClain. His only crime was being black in our society. Kyle Rittenhouse walks right past police officers after having shot people and goes home but Philandro Castillo gets pulled over for having a "wide set nose". You can find video after video now where blacks get pulled over for something incredibly minor or simply made up.

So do we need to address they way police officers are trained? Yes. Do we need to change the way we hire police officers? Yes. Do we still have a problem with racism? Yes.

Quit being a partisan hack. You know that republicans absolutely love to "get tough on crime" and still want to continue the failed war on drugs.

The fact is poor white people are the ones who suffer most from police brutality.

Of course they do and it's not just brutality. The problem is that we only get as much justice and fairness in our system as we can afford.

Why perpetuate this? This is why police across the country are a target, because of comments like this.

There is no proof that the police are being used as a weapon against...anyone. what you are seeing is a left wing media agenda to put the few acts by a few police squarely in the spotlight in order to sow dissention and chaos, and they are doing a good job at it.

You see, for every negative thing the leftist media will show about the police, there are hundreds or thousands of good things done by the police....but you never see THAT on the news....why do you think that is? Probably because being an officer is one of those thankless jobs that nobody thinks about until you need them.

Let's not lose sight of that. The police you hate today might be the ones saving your life tomorrow.

I'm not being a partisan hack. I'm just going by policies, bill writers and records on who voted how. 1994 Crime Bill - Joe Biden owns it. First step act - President Trump owns it.

Actual shit that happened. Not promises. Promises from politicians are useless. Only action counts.
