The REAL debates are around struggling Americans’ kitchen tables

You don't think there is a possibility that those huge corporations have taken advantage of all the political nonsense?
That's BEEN going on for a while? Do you suppose there RECORD PROFITS have anything to do with it?
Company's need to make a profit,
but greed over concern for people IS
Getting worse, & not good for AMERICA.
The profit margin for the grocery store is no more and perhaps a bit less now than it was before the Biden era inflation. What Biden/Harris do not seem to understand that--this is one example only--if you artificially raise wages, business won't just eat the extra expense of labor but their prices will reflect that.

It might not be any significant amount for that one factor but when you add in the inflated costs of labor, energy, maintenance, transportation, raw materials, insurance, escalated crime, and all the other expenses incurred doing business, the higher costs are no longer insignificant. And those costs are reflected in the products we buy.

Common sense economics never figures one factor only in assessing the condition of the economy but all the factors involved including what modified human behavior happens due to different circumstances.

YOU did not answer the question.
DO you believe that the shrinking of the middle class and the Huge RISE in poverty
ONLY happened in the last less than Four years!
According to Pew, the shrinking of the middle class has not been mostly because more people are poor but because more of the middle class have so prospered they are now in the wealthy group.

And it is possible the Trump era contributed to that. Not only did many families so prosper they no longer qualified for SNAP or other government assistance, but most likely more than a few moved out of the middle class into the wealthier group which, if we have more administrations like Trump's, will become the new normal for the middle class.
