On Jan. 31, Parkinson appeared on the Stand podcast with Kelly and Niki Tshibaka. During a discussion about parental rights and religious freedom, Parkinson claimed the plus symbol in LGBTQ+ represented pedophiles.

“Do you know what the plus stands for? I mean, it basically stands for what they now are terming MAPS: Minor Attracted People. Pedophiles.” Parkinson said. “And I don’t think that that’s actually what the gay and lesbian community stands for. I think that there’s a lot of responsible adults that don’t want government in the bedroom, but also agree that children shouldn’t be groomed. And so, I think that’s a big part of the parents’ rights movement in taking back our classrooms and ensuring that they are sticking to math, science, reading, and not you know indoctrinating kids on diversity, equity, inclusion, CRT and all this other nonsense.”

For decades, far-right groups have tried to demonize LGBTQ people by falsely tying them to pedophiles and child abuse. A study by Media Matters found these lies have gained traction in recent years due to online communities like 4chan.

Parkinson entered the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in Virginia in April 2023. He is hoping to challenge incumbent Democratic Sen. Tim Kaine in the general election. Kaine has been a fierce advocate for LGBTQ rights.

Prior to running for office, Parkinson worked for Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI), then-Florida Rep. Ron DeSantis, and the right-wing Club for Growth. On his campaign website’s “Meet Scott” page, Parkinson’s campaign describes him as an outsider fighting against the establishment.

A spokesperson for Parkinson did not immediately respond to a request to comment for this story.

Democrat policies are absolutely terrible. You print trillions and then blow it on things that Americans think are retarded. You defund the police, support riots, push for "gender affirming care" for minors, you push for trans dudes in girls sports, you want to censor things that your ultra biased opinions consider "disinformation", and most of all you push that endlessly annoying DEI garbage that everyone hates.

The federal government is being gutted right now. A great purge is happening of lifelong democrats who secretly misused their power to screw over your political opponents. The deep state is being wiped out and will not be very helpful for democrats in the future. They will be terrified of either being fired by the next admin, or being indicted by the next admins DOJ. They wont screw around anymore, so that secret weapon is now no longer part of the democrat arsenal.

We are now finding that Democrats have been secretly funded by the federal government, all across the board. You funnel money to your propaganda legacy media, you funnel money into your lawfare prosecutions and lawsuits, and you funnel money into the DNC. The ActBlue scandal is going to crush democrats if it turns out to be true. Regardless, ActBlue is falling apart and that means youll lose almost a billion dollars a year in DNC funds. Also, MANY wealthy democrats who donate to the DNC are pulling out. Your money is drying up.

For YEARS the democrat party has been artificially propped up. What on Earth do democrats do now that their props no longer work? You have to actually make a real case now and have legitimately good ideas, but your party is lazy after all these years of not having to do actual work. Modern Democrats dont have good ideas and people arent buying the fake moral platitudes anymore.

Does that mean the democrat party is dead? No, but the only way you will survive is by completely throwing out ALL the beliefs that you guys have been hammering the nation with for YEARS. You just have to completely sell out your principles and pretend to not like them anymore. You also have to remove every democrat Congressman and Senator and replace them with serious people. The economy could STILL SLOW its expansion, or might even contract, but if 99% of Americans are working taking the job openings, what do you think America would think? And IF we needed more labor, we would target the people for the job openings we needed to fill wanting to come in, instead of just anyone.............and they would be FORCED to pay taxes, not live in the underbelly of society, working for cash.

This is one of the main reasons that Democrats are in full retreat, and most of their party supposed leaders, know it. I actually expect them to (gasp) change their tune on this, at least temporarily, but not until next year. They can't do it to soon, or the savings and job openings would be MASSIVE, giving Trump an economic win that would prove what he said was correct all along for the 26 midterms.

Just remember how ALL of the Democratic governors kept their states locked down so as the economy would show awful, then opened it all up when it was to late for the numbers to come in before the 2020 election. And remember how the Democrats crowed, lol. They had CREATED a pent up demand by a forced economic shutdown across almost ever Blue state, then took a victory lap saying the economy LOVED Bidenomics, lol.

The charismatic preacher's new video instructs her followers, whose ranks have swollen as a result of her close relationship to Trump, that "you must sacrifice some way during this prophetic season, because it's through sacrifice that your spirit opens up so wide that you can receive divine direction." She promises "increase" for those who sow a "seed," citing Proverbs 1:33, which promises "safety" and "ease" to believers. What is this "sacrifice" White wishes her followers to make for their safety and ease? Why, sending her a check for $133, which she implies will be returned to them many times over by God.

White is one of the country's most prominent peddlers of the "prosperity gospel." As religious studies expert Kate Bowler explained in Vox in 2018, it's a Christian movement that teaches "God will give you your heart’s desires: money in the bank, a healthy body, a thriving family, and boundless happiness." All you need to do is prove your faith by writing checks to the leaders, even — perhaps especially — if you can't afford it. By doing so, they promise, God will reward them amply, often in cold, hard cash.

But what's striking about the prosperity gospel and its empty promises of future wealth in exchange for current privation is how much it sounds exactly like the excuses Trump and his allies are making for the economic wreckage he's inflicting on the U.S. through unnecessary and unjustifiable tariffs. During the campaign, Trump promised, "When I win, I will immediately bring prices down, starting on day one." Instead, he's doing the opposite: Imposing tariffs on most major trading partners, which function like a sales tax that will almost certainly cause inflation, which had been dwindling in the last year of President Joe Biden's term, to skyrocket again.

The message spread throughout the Trump propaganda apparatus to command the MAGA base to see their sudden loss of purchasing power as a necessary sacrifice for future riches. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick admitted that the tariffs will likely spur a recession, but insisted it would be "worth it" because they will supposedly "produce growth." "No pain, no gain — that’s what we used to tell our football players," Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., said, falsely equating exercise, which promotes muscle growth, with sales taxes, which suppress consumer spending and shrink the economy. Fox News host Greg Gutfeld also invoked the language of sacrifice, instructing viewers, "don't buy the goods" if they don't want to pay the tax. That may be not possible with necessary goods, like food and fuel. But even with luxury items, the "don't spend money" message is death to economic growth. ...............
