If the PM goes forward with a plan that requires 400 workers and the customer cannot afford to execute that plan, then the plan is modified, descoped or stretched out. A plan is just that....a plan. It is not a definitive declaration of the only way a project can be completed

the point the folks on the right fail to acknowledge is that General Petraeus fully supports Obama's decision and participated in formulating it.

And when Petraeus DID ask for 40K troops, he was not expecting the first new sets of boots to hit the ground until early 2010...So Obama's deliberate and thoughtful approach which resulted in his current plan, which has troops arriving before Christmas, did not cause any delay in implementation.... in fact, just the opposite.

That's not how the Chain of Command works.

This is what happens when people try to politicize the motives of professional officers. The conservatives were all hunky dory on Petraeus when Bush was in Office (and some liberals were calling him Betrayus) now that Obama is in charge, the tables are turned.

Thank God we have a professional officer corps (and NCO corps) that is above this political backbiting.

Petraeus is CENTCOM commander, that means any plan in CENTCOM has his signature on it. Especially plans at the strategic and operational level.

I can respect that, though I disagree with your conclusions about Obama to some extent I don't disagree with how you arrived there.

Ironically, it reflects some of how I feel about Bush. I don't "hate" him....I think he is in reality a fundamentally decent person but he was incompetent to be president and this incompetence became visable during the difficult times presented by 9/11, initiation of two wars, Katrina, and a politicized DoJ. His finest moments was 9/11 and the few months following, and when he left office. It wasn't Bush I hated but his policies. I'm an independent but in many areas (foreign policy, public health, environment, science) I'm a liberal and very much opposed to his policies in those areas.

they certainly aren't theses.... and you certainly are not very good at using the language with any level of comfort. My guess is, if you ever get to a level of education where you actually might have to write a thesis, you would need a powerful grammar checking word processing program.
