The President of War

You mean except for producing a verifiable agreement preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon? Google, JCPOA.
Those who think Iran wasn't doing a nuclear programme under Mr. Waffle Obama were very naive.

Iran and the Middle East couldn't give two hoots what Americans and the West are lead to believe on what was agreed.

Do you honestly believe you can bargain with Muslim nutjobs?

A regime that has killed Americans for decades is not our business?

We should just ignore the #1 state sponsor if terrrorism in the wirld?
Did they come here and kill Americans? Was our mindless attack on Iraq an act of terrorism? No, just murder. After 23 years, we still haven`t found the mythical WMDs.

The UN weapons inspectors found no WMDs and no evidence that they ever did have them and it doesn`t matter what some loons thought. Obama shied away from becoming a war criminal.

You don't see what's hidden. Why would Iran have secret facilities and then show inspectors? And then when the Obama Iran deal was scrapped, Iran suddenly had deep facilities with uranium? There's some credulous folk out there because, "Obama said".

A struggle to shape the narrative on trump's war has developed. Generalissimo trump's defenders claim it was justified because Iran represented an imminent threat to the US. Apparently, they are unfamiliar with the definition of the word imminent.

Beyond that their defense will hinge on the outcome of the war.

The opposition counters by pointing out the fact that Iran did not pose an imminent threat and was still negotiating the terms of its nuclear enrichment program. Having offered to suspend it for 3-5 years in return for the loosening of economic sanctions.

IMO, the outcome of the war is dwarfed in importance by the unconstitutional way in which trump started it. Not by necessity, by choice, and without seeking the approval of Congress. If regime change comes it will benefit the world community. For the US what remains paramount is trump's repeated violations of the constitutional order. He feels unrestrained by it as his track record clearly proves.

Progressives were involved in that war also. 9/11 caught us with our pants down.

Some real world consequences.

Crude oil prices are expected to jump when trading opens Sunday evening, as market participants fear war between the U.S. and Iran will spiral out of control and lead to a major supply disruption.

The massive wave of airstrikes launched by the U.S. and Israel against Iran have killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top leaders in the Islamic Republic. See the latest developments here.

Kalshi prediction markets currently see a 79% likelihood that U.S. crude oil hits at least $73 per barrel or more. U.S. crude closed at $67.02 per barrel on Friday, having run up 17% so far this year in anticipation of a possible Iran attack. Energy futures begin trading at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Brent crude oil, the international benchmark, could see even bigger gains. Brent futures closed Friday at $73.21 a barrel on Friday, up 20% so far this year.

It is unclear who will ultimately govern the fourth-largest oil producer in OPEC. How the oil market ultimately reacts will depend on whether the war leads to a prolonged disruption to traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, the most important chokepoint in the world for the global oil trade.

I agree that the Iraq and WMD was farcical. Bush and Blair should have been jailed.

But for the Iranian people to suffer under a regime that was hell bent on having nuclear weapons and funding terrorists could not be tolerated.

and they will continue to attack us because of Trump.

Didn't Trump say that Iran was finished for years, when he bombed them the last time? Wasn't that bombing supposed to be the END OF IRAN as a warring nation. and now just 8 months later, they are STILL a warring nation? Is Trump that incompetent, or just a big liar?
He's both. But he gets away with it because the Trump Party Congress of gutless cowards, toadies, ankle grabbers & his human jockstraps like Miss Lindsey continually violate The Constitution which tasks the Congress as a check on Executive Power.

Someday, no doubt someday the Country is going to regret it & pay the price for it.

The JCPOA prevented Iran from developing nuclear weapons. It was working.........then Generalissimo trump ended it because Obama helped put it in place.

With Congress set to begin voting on a war powers resolution to halt Trump’s assault on Iran this week, lawmakers on Sunday grappled over whether to buck the president after Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed.

“This is an illegal war,” said Sen. Tim Kaine, D-Va., the lead sponsor of the Senate’s version of the war powers resolution, in an appearance on “Fox News Sunday.” “The Constitution says no declaration of war without Congress. The president has called this war against Iran.”

A war powers resolution allows Congress to disapprove of a president’s military action and force the pullback of troops. Should it pass, however, it would be mostly symbolic as Trump is almost certain to veto it.

The Constitution vests the power to declare war in Congress.

Defying Congress, if it happens, adds another reason to impeach trump to the list.

It was not working they never stopped building them. Obamas deal was a total fraud and failure. He enabled Iran to build nukes and Biden waved the sanctions on them. Trump solved the problem created by Carter

15th post
I know you lefties are so proud of Jimmy Carter’s legacy and major accomplishment: the Iranian Regime.

Well it’s over now, finally. This is why we should never elect Democrats, their messes can take decades to clean up.
