We have been claiming they were weeks away from nukes for decades. Scare tactics no longer work.

This is simply psychopaths with a mad desire to kill.
Could we at least agree 0bama was completely unqualified and incompetent to do the job concerning Iran?

Again, we heard the same thing about Afghanistan.
Turns out Trump is just another neocon, and the flock knows it. But they still have to spin and attack for him.

At least the neocons didn't turn our former friends against us while policing the world.

They've been duped, lied to and made fools of. That's why they're always so freakin' nasty.

We need to mind our own business. Obama failed in Syria, Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan in that regard.

If it was the right thing to do, why did Trump previously condemn Obama for possibly doing it?

“Neocon”. Another meaningless pejorative term invented by the left. Just like “Christian nationalist”

We are now a rogue nation. Welcome to trumpworld.
Trump and Netanyahu are the two most dangerous terrorists on the planet right now. They are killing their own citizens to advance their twisted and corrupt agendas.

Are you really talking about the two thugs who interfered with ICE in Minnesota as examples of "Trump killing his own citizens"?
Stop being a joke, Skews, and people will take you more seriously.

Meanwhile, regardless of your fantasies, the beat goes on, squidward.
This is one of if not THE main reason for why we got here.

A worthless withdrawal: Two years since President Trump abandoned the JCPOA

May 8 marked two years since President Trump formally withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), better known as the Iran nuclear deal, while maintaining that “t is the policy of the United States that Iran be denied a nuclear weapon and intercontinental ballistic missiles.” Since then, the Trump Administration unilaterally re-imposed crippling sanctions on Iran and antagonized our allies by forcing them to comply or risk financial isolation. They have also wasted valuable time trying to disassemble the Iran nuclear deal rather than pursuing negotiations to address its concerns. Now, the United States is scrambling to respond to the impending end of a United Nations (UN) arms embargo linked to the nuclear deal.

In retaliation for the Trump Administration’s decision to leave the JCPOA, Iran incrementally stepped back from compliance with the deal one year later — beginning in May 2019 — and our allies have resisted calls to punish Iran over its legitimate grievances. Iran’s proximity to a nuclear weapon capability has gradually increased due to the Trump Administration’s policies, and Iran is now roughly six months away from having enough weapons-grade fissile material for a nuclear bomb. When President Trump took office, Iran was about a year from that milestone. As a whole, the Trump Administration’s withdrawal from the JCPOA and “maximum pressure” strategy has gotten the United States no closer to its stated goals.

Panama, Cuba, Iran.

AI Overview

The Iran-Contra affair (1985–1987) was a major political scandal during President Ronald Reagan's second term, involving the secret sale of arms to Iran to secure the release of U.S. hostages in Lebanon. Profits from these illegal sales were illicitly funneled to support the Contra rebels in Nicaragua, violating the congressional Boland Amendment.

GFY.

Iran's leader is dead. The bombing should stop.
Finally, we can put to rest the other ever changing rationales the regime has trotted out to justify starting a war with Iran. It wasn't protecting protesters, it wasn't about the nuclear program, it wasn't about oil, it was about regime change.

The C.I.A. Helped Pinpoint a Gathering of Iranian Leaders. Then Israel Struck.

Shortly before the United States and Israel were poised to launch an attack on Iran, the C.I.A. zeroed in on the location of perhaps the most important target: Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country’s supreme leader.

The C.I.A. had been tracking Ayatollah Khamenei for months, gaining more confidence about his locations and his patterns, according to people familiar with the operation. Then the agency learned that a meeting of top Iranian officials would take place on Saturday morning at a leadership compound in the heart of Tehran. Most critically, the C.I.A. learned that the supreme leader would be at the site.

The United States and Israel decided to adjust the timing of their attack, in part to take advantage of the new intelligence, according to officials with knowledge of the decisions.

The information provided a window of opportunity for the two countries to achieve a critical and early victory: the elimination of top Iranian officials and the killing of Ayatollah Khamenei.

As far as I can see, not one US life has been lost in this effort. While I remain steadfast in avoiding another forever war, this does not seem to be the case here. I don't see what liberals are whining about. Trump is getting a result that benefits America. Oh, I see, America benefits, that's enough to piss off our whiny liberals.
It was inevitable that a trumple would invoke what is essentially the "ends justifies the means" argument. Specifically, "if the US only suffers minor (or no) casualties and we kill the supreme leader it justifies trump not getting Congress's permission to illegally place us at war with Iran and destabilize the ME."

Talking to Iran during and since the Obama days never helped -
You mean except for producing a verifiable agreement preventing Iran from developing a nuclear weapon? Google, JCPOA.

I suppose one could, if one's head was completely up one's ass as yours is.

47 years of it.

Did Iran pose an imminent threat to the US? No. Were continued negotiations scheduled for next week? Yes. Had Iran offered to suspend its uranium enrichment program for 3-5 years? Yes.

So why attack? Two reasons. First..............The C.I.A. had been tracking Ayatollah Khamenei for months, gaining more confidence about his locations and his patterns, according to people familiar with the operation. Then the agency learned that a meeting of top Iranian officials would take place on Saturday morning at a leadership compound in the heart of Tehran. Second...........trump wanted war. He chose it out of desire, not necessity.
