The walls are closing in as the investigation into the nursing homes also continues.
“Albany Police Department officials said on Thursday that they had received a report from a state official about an alleged incident at the Executive Mansion involving Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and a female aide that may have risen ‘to the level of a crime’,” the New York Times reported.
“Steve Smith, a spokesman for the Albany police, said that the department had not received a formal complaint from the woman, who has not been identified, but that it had reached out to a representative for her,” the Times continued.
“This does not mean, Mr. Smith said, that the department has opened a criminal investigation, but it has offered its services to the alleged victim, ‘as we would do with any other report or incident’,” the police said.
On Wednesday, the news broke that a woman was reportedly groped by Andrew Cuomo at the Executive Mansion. The Times Union reported the additional details of Cuomo’s sixth accuser.
“The staff member, whose identity is being withheld by the Times Union, had been called to the mansion under the apparent pretext of having her assist the governor with a minor technical issue involving his mobile phone,” the Times Union reported. “They were alone in Cuomo’s private residence on the second floor when he closed the door and allegedly reached under her blouse and began to fondle her, according to the source.”
