one of my favorite 'internet pictures', this was taken at a protest when china had just won the olympic bid a couple years ago:

Germany was not the Pariah in 1936 it became later


And Munich was a huge embarrassment to the regime at the time.

But I kind of agree with the protester's point of view. China really shouldn't have been given the Olympics, as it was seen by them as validation.

At the same time, it must have been an eye opener to the folks in China.
