The Pain Pills perscribed from my doctor does not take the pain away but...

I hate going to the Dr, but I hate hospitals even more. I have never had a Dr. prescribe something that did not work. What is your medical problem....care to share?

I ate some tomatoes and it flared up my arthritis which I had since 2012. I took the pain pill at 8:30pm right after dinner and Im still in pain 4 hours later


So tomorrow I am going to get some pain pills off the shelf

Be careful. I used to take several (12-16) Excederin Migraine pills a day for my headaches. Didn't see the Dr. Don't like to go to them. I ended up in the hospital with bleeding ulcers and the scar tissue grew over the opening to my intestines. Almost died. They took a good portion of my stomach and I had to go through all of these tests and tubes going down my nose to my stomach to get rid of all the blood in my stomach.

Afterwards, they sent me to a neurologist and he took care of the problem. You probably need a specialist. Ask your Dr.

I only have pain when I eat something spicy or with tomatoes so since that is the case I would only be taking 4 pills next week since I will be eating tomato sauce and spices on superbowl sunday

And I never took more than 4 in a 24 hour period. 4 200mg pills is what I take

Tomatos are very acidic!

Yes, those bother me as well as most fruits, alcohol and an empty stomach. The Dr.s had to cut my vegus nerve to avoid more acids from going into my stomach.

If it is your stomach that is in pain, I suggest Pepto Bismal Max. Tip: YOur stools will turn black for a short period of time. It's okay.

Doctors think most people asking for pain pills are just drug abusers. Ask anyone who works in an emergency room. They will tell you that at least half of the people are just there shopping for something to get high. I don't know if they are right or wrong, but I do know lots of hurting people are going to keep hurting because of that.

Ibuprofen works great for me as well. Just do not do what my dad did. He was taking too much for pain, and he ended up with a grapefruit sized ulcer that ruptured, and he came very close to bleeding to death. Had to have emergency surgery.
I used to take them a lot more often than I do now. If use sparingly, they are great...at least for me.

In my case it's never more than 800mg a day. if I took 4 on Monday, I would not take anymore until wednesday. Most times I can use ICE to calm down the arthritis inflammation and don't need pain pills if it;s the knee or ankle.

oh, that must be awful. Please call your Dr and tell him that the pills prescribed aren't working. Even if the OTC Ibuprofen pills work, waiting two hours for relief seems too long.

I don't think so. We've been friends for years before she was my doctor. She wouldn't steer me wrong. If I'm in pain she gives me stuff that works. Opioids.

Your doctor is giving you an NSAID even though you have stomach problems. Like she's trying to make your condition worse or something. Just drumming up some extra business, perhaps. Or maybe reluctant to write a script for any opioids because she thinks you are a junkie faking the pain to get the good stuff. Also if she is from Asia there is a good likelihood that she does not prescribe opioids because they are a religious taboo.

If I was you, I'd tell your doctor that I want a script for some roxies and low dose prednisone. Maybe even mention that you'll have to consult a lawyer

Yeah eventually you realize...it just isn't worth it. Embrace the.pain, dose yourself with tylenol and ibuprofen tovether. Watch dosage esp. of the tylenol, don't take too much or you will die...but those two together pack a good.wallop against.most pain.
