.Secular governments are responsible for murdering over 150 million of their own citizens in the past century.Scientific enlightenment, classical liberalism, secular government...to name a few. I would list the horribly embarrassing religion-fueled delusions they displaced, but there's not enough bandwidth for that. What's a better secular idea?More self soothing sky daddy pap...of course, we have the best, most moral society in history precisely because we have abandoned the domination of magical hooha in favor of better, secular ideas. The societies that haven't caught up are the ones still trying to shed the embarrassment that is religion. The rise of evil being acceptable in society is because Christians have been brainwashed that they’re supposed to be quite passivists. Satans greatest trick is to get good people to do nothing....that's why we are losing the argument on abortion, assisted suicide and euthanasia, is because too many people can no longer be reached by religious arguments.
The quandary is this, only if there is a God who created human life in his own image, is human life precious, so that killing of innocent human life is always wrong.
If one does not believe in God, then human life has no inherent value, and killing innocent human life can be justified when it is convenient.
The only way to win the argument on abortion/assisted suicide/euthanasia is to convince enough people that God exists.

the U S is a secular gov't - despite psudo theistic intrusions.
* of course the iraq wars would be an example of murdering innocent civilians as that was where the theistic intrusion was not prevented.
