Reed starred in the WWF and other wrestling promotions, and was known as "The Natural" for his naturally blonde hair. Very distinctive and unique for an African American. He was 66 and suffered from heart problems.

I don't think his blonde hair was natural. May he RIP.

Roids are not good for the heart.
That is why many of the WWF/ WWE athlete actors & actresses have dropped like flies at a premature age.
How can they thank you Vince?

The name sounds familiar, tried to put a face to the name and couldn’t

he was a showoff. Flexy Butch was Sexy!

"Today the NWA grieves the loss of Ronald Read, better known as Ron Reed and Buddy Colt. A former NWA North American Heavyweight Champion as well as many more, Read was one of the most decorated wrestlers of the 60s and 70s."

There's a story about him in a plane crash in the Gulf. Busted leg and other injuries he put a injured wrestler on his back and swam a long distance back to shore in total darkness. He was a marine. Seen him perform many times at the old Orlando/graham sports stadium. He played the thug better then any one. I believe he and Lou These have the record for longest match. Buddy Colt was tough in a lot of ways.

Yep the modern era of rasslin was with the Hulkster. But if you want to see some gritty, bloody rough tough matches,go to the late 60s and 70s matches with the old NWA and Championship Wrestling from Florida with Gordon Sole. There is some good videos on line.
