The myth of the so called "southern strategy" brought about by leftist propagandists.

Whatever the reason(s) for the gradual shift in parties, it clearly was NOT civil rights.
For the record, there was never a “shift in parties”. There was a shift in geography.

Republicans (the party of production, wealth, etc.) retired to the south where there is warm weather year ‘round because they could afford to do so.

Democrats (the party of lazy, unproductive, welfare recipients) remained where they were because they couldn’t afford to do anything else.

I'm white, and I advocate for blacks because I know your racist white ass won't hire them unless your company is threatened to lose their tax breaks or government contracts, and yet I'm the racist?
You “advocate” for them because you’re a simpleton who was easily duped by absurd propaganda.

In fact, you’re such a simpleton, you can’t even see how your own ideology defeats itself.

You: “Capitalism is evil…it’s nothing but greedy people putting money above humanity, the planet, etc.”

Also you: “Capitalists are so principled, they put their hate of black people above making money”

It’s literally fall-down hilarious how liberals are so dumb, they defeat themselves.

That fits. It is at least a big PART of the shift.

You are full of hate and false information. You are part of the loony left. Your bigoted, warped perception of conservatives/Republicans is based on far-left delusions and lies. Extremists like you are the reason our politics have become so polarized.
Right back at you. But also, you guys suck running the country

Really? Since Trump took office in January 2025, we've had nearly $3 trillion in new foreign investments come to America. We have seen a net reduction in prescription drug prices. Food prices are lower than they were under Biden. The flow of illegal immigrants across our southern border has been drastically reduced, if not halted. The flow of illegal drugs into the country has been substantially cut. Middle-income and low-income seniors no longer have to pay taxes on their Social Security benefits (the taxes are rebated in their tax returns), thanks to the tax cuts in the Big Beautiful Bill. Veterans Administration medical care has improved substantially. We have helped the Israelis to cripple the terrorist group Hamas. We have taken long-overdue military action against the murderous Iranian regime. Aside from the temporary hike in gas prices caused by the action against Iran, gas prices have been lower than they were under Biden.

Bullshit. I can tell you are FOS when you said Net reduction.

Food is not cheaper. No way. What do you mean "WERE" under Biden. When? 2024 or when prices were high because of the pandemic? Are food prices lower today than November 2024? I doubt that.

The flow of illegals. First of all, they weren't illegals. They were seeking asylum.

So much wrong with your post I can't address all the flaws.

Remember Trump said he didn't want China buying farms in America near our nuclear facilities. He flip flopped on that.

You cherry picker. BBB is going to bankupt us. How much did the average person get back? $300? Not worth it.

You are so fos. I love it! Things are so bad yet you're trying to say they're good. How cute.

...

The flow of illegals. First of all, they weren't illegals. They were seeking asylum.

...

They had been trained by lefties to game the system. THey were falsely claiming asylum.

**** THAT SHIT. SEAL THE BORDER.

And Trump did.

That you can't be honest about that, is you being weak.

Can you be honest that Biden was going to close the border with Mike Johnson and Trump told Mike to wait till after the election?

Now we have all kinds of other problems too because of Trumpanomics. And it's only going to get worse

Yes, wonderful lesson and whenever these blowhards on the left repeat marxist cliches and utter BS about the democrats in the all of sudden switching parties, listen to the truth and counter it with facts.

Not that that would mean much to these contaminated thoroughly dd.moralized leftists around, you can at least have the actual facts.

Let's ask AI

When Republicans claim "the GOP gave Black Americans civil rights," they are referring to the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments passed during the Reconstruction era. However, this argument misses three critical historical facts that contextualize modern racial politics

  • Party Realignment (The Southern Strategy): The ideological makeup of the two parties completely reversed in the latter half of the 20th century. Conservative Southern Democrats, who once fiercely defended Jim Crow segregation, switched to the Republican Party following the passage of the 1960s civil rights legislation.
  • The 1964 Civil Rights Act: While many Republicans in Congress courageously supported the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the GOP also nominated Barry Goldwater for president that same year. Goldwater, the face of the emerging conservative movement, voted against the Act and paved the way for the party to court white Southern voters by opposing federal civil rights enforcement.
  • Modern Policy Rollbacks: The foundational civil rights legislation of the 1960s was driven primarily by Democratic Presidents like John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson. In subsequent decades, the Republican Party used executive actions and the courts to actively undermine and roll back federal enforcement of voting rights and affirmative action.

Sounds like bullshit. Why didn't Biden close the border in his first year, like Trump did?

Wasn't that big of an issue. Low unemployment. Immigrants are what make this country great. You see we aren't doing so well ever since the borders closed huh? Farmers, hotels, restaurants, golf courses.

Wasn't that big of an issue.

You brought it up, cause Biden wanted to do it sooooo much a few years later. What changed?

Oh right, the election was suddenly closer. And he had to look like he was doing his job, protecting America, instead of betraying it.

On one hand you pretend that Biden and you dems wanted to close the border, now you are arguing for leaving it open.

your words make no sense. And contradict what we can ALL see, ie that you dems are anti-Americans who side with the invaders AGAINST, your fellow Americans.

It wasn't that big of a deal to Democrats. Then they saw the electorate really wanted it. That's what politicians do. They see the voters want something and they react.

You seem to want leaders as politicians. I don't. I want my representatives to do what we elected them to do. If they do the opposite of what we sent them to do, vote them out. Like Trump waging new middle east wars or raising inflation.

I think it was and is. you guys are committed to an open border. You want to flood this nation with third worlders, to turn US into a third world nation, where your politics will seem fine to the new population and you can rule unchecked.

Then they saw the electorate really wanted it. That's what politicians do. They see the voters want something and they react.

Excactly. Biden didn't want to close the border. But he was willing to PRETEND TO TRY, and then when the election was over, he would have quietly let the matter drop.

All this talk about "asylum" or "how to BEST secure the border" is just shit talk, to hide from the voters what you lefties want to do to US.

You seem to want leaders as politicians. I don't. I want my representatives to do what we elected them to do. If they do the opposite of what we sent them to do, vote them out.

I want to have a serious discussion about the choices before US.

You were talking shit as though you dems and Biden wanted to close the border.

The reality is that you guys want an open border so you can change America into something new, where guys like be will never get our way again.

And part of that is your acceptance that workers will never get a serious increase in standard of living.

I want policy to try to be the OPPOSITE of that.
