I know, I used to be very involved in the Palestinian cause and published a great deal in newspapers and even books. Went away and did other things for ... my gawd, almost 40 years. Now I'M BACK!!!

Look, the truth is, I don't even know any Palestinians or Arabs currently, like I said, went away and did other things, lost touch. But something happened lately that has galvanized me. If you, like me, are motivated by a desire to have peace in Israel/Palestine, and if you, like me, believe that it may now be close at hand, if we just open our hands and reach for it, then please consider. I am tired of all the bloodshed. I lost a lot of people I loved, got to a point where I couldn't bear it anymore .... and I know the Israelis have too. Let's make a supreme effort to understand one another.

I'm not allowed to send private messages yet, but I wanted to reply to you Hossfly. Unfortunately, there are not enough resources to devote to any "Pallywood" efforts. Nearly everything is very real. I wish I could believe otherwise myself, would make it easier to sleep.

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel has suspended a soldier in the fatal shootings of two Palestinian teenagers at a protest held on May 15 in the occupied West Bank, Israeli media reported on Wednesday.

The killings took place as protests erupted across the West Bank on Nakba Day, when the Palestinians mark the loss of the 1948 war that resulted in the creation of Israel and the flight of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians.

Yes, the Israelis got caught this time. They did shoot those two boys. The only way out is to try the soldier and try to say he is a renegade who acted without orders.

Of course the truth is that this is a fairly common practice, shooting a few Palestinians, hoping to scare the rest. It worked in the case of Deir Yassin, but it won't work now. There is no plausible deniability. They have lost credibility with not only CNN, but with much of the world. They have been shooting juvenile rock throwers, picking a few off at a time, for years, and then trying to say other Palestinians actually shot them just trying to make poor picked-upon Israel look bad.

This group is 800-strong now... and they call themselves "Breaking the Silence." They are former and in some cases current Israeli soldiers who out of good consiences want to set the record straight. The video is about half an hour, but please watch. These soldiers are articulate and very informative. It is excellent. When I have made another 13 posts, which won't take me long, I will come back to edit and post the actual url.

And I urge you not to call Palestinians or Arabs "animals." Hate speech could provoke a great deal of difficulty for you and for the forum.

The film shown in the first post is of an ambulance that is waiting at a safe distance waiting in case anyone gets hurt ... quite routine. When they see the boy limping they come of their own accord to offer him help. But he sees them coming and doesn't want to leave so waves them off. That's all.

No Israeli gun was "caught" on camera and only one gun was fired at the time but not down that particular street and it was using rubber bullets at a wall toscare protesters not live rounds. The other shooting in the exact spot was more than an hour later when no IDF were in the area.

Sorry, but I am way too familiar with events to be taken in by a fake. They put that child in the ground and covered his face with dirt, its on film, so I HOPE he was dead! And frankly, as I have already said, I wish I could think it was all lies. Unfortunately I can't. I know it is true.

No, the ones who were there, other soldiers, said it was an actual shooting and the kids are really dead. And CNN is obviously totally convinced and they were RIGHT THERE filming. That is why the soldier who did the shooting is now in trouble. And of course the kids did get death certificates!
I think most Israelis know this to be true, it happens pretty often. It is only in America that there is enough distance between reality and ideology for anyone to plausibly deny something like this. Will try to find film of the funerals. Watching someone get dirt thrown on their face is really pretty convincing.

We don't say the kids were not killed. We say that this video is FAKE. There is a difference. They base their propaganda on staged videos, and all those with half a brain know that this video is not the reason for the trouble the soldiers were in. there were no soldiers in the area to begin with where it was taken.

And soldiers in jail? why is that a surprise to you? each soldier has the greater chances of getting in trouble and locked up for the most stupid thing, these days. It's so clear you don't know much about the IDF, honestly.

David Nahlawi is now in jail for cocking a rifle on a Palestinian that tried to attack him. Soldiers who dare to defend themselves get locked up. So why are you surprised over this?

Like I mentioned in another post, you really have to be American to be at far enough remove to swallow the government line. The actual Israelis, whether the accept the necessity of doing what they do, or go out in the streets and protest and try to change things, or turn their heads and look the other way, they ALL KNOW THE TRUTH by now, Lord love 'em. And there have ALWAYS been Israelis who have told the truth. We have testimony from Israelis about Plan Dalet and earlier for goodness' sake!

So the CNN film is true. The part you are showing is not a video someone MADE, it is from a security camera on a building. We have the word of the CNN reporters, who were near the soldiers, that there was no other gunfire apart from that one Israeli sniper. There is no other gunfire on the CNN film.

Whoop-tee-do that there are 'over 800' anti-government former soldiers - out of how many? Anyone who has a modicum of functional brain cells knows that number is statistically insignificant.

The only way such a minute number could matter, is if Israelis have a 'hive-mind' and all think alike.

In the take, it's clearly showed how they try to stage the shooting, but fail. This video is taken about 2 minutes before the "actual" "shooting" video is filmed.

Notice the ambulance arriving to the scene to "collect" the injured before they're even harmed....
