Your mistake is thinking everyone acts like you and your cult, what with your compulsive signaling and purity tests.

The mistake you make is mis-characterization, hyperbole and sensationalism. You think calling someone a "gun nutter" is some gotcha, or verbal trump card that gives you an upper hand when in fact, it shows your inability to logically reason and provide reasonable discourse.

You absolutely know it's plausible, that even you, may have a gun tucked away for those "just in case" moments. But your ego is too proud to even budge one logical ounce on the issue, even for an anonymous forum. Look at the rest of the dialogue above.
