I believe the legislation would have to pass a bill taking away the tax benefits.So if some gun manufacturer were to say something a governor didn't like, the governor should be able to discontinue the tax breaks and other special treatment that they were granted when they moved into the state--long before the governor was elected?

They can be treated like every other company in FL at this point.Except that is not the case. It has a special status given to it by Govt, treating it differently, for decades, that special status is gone....so now it's being treated like everyone else. That's not weaponization, that's equality....I guess equality is something the left hates now, and giving tax breaks to major multi-national billion dollar companies (so long as they stay in line with the cult) is the party embraces. I agree no business or company was ever targeted. The expiration of this special status applied to a range of companies, that got it back in the 1960s.There are more than 100 companies/entities with the same special status. None were targted.
Both DeSantis and the Repubs in the Florida legislature have said openly they are doing this because of the words of Disney.
That is the very definition of weaponization of the Govt to punish someone for their free speech.
