Anytime they "sold" land to Europeans, they either didn't get the concept of now they couldn't "trespass" or else they thought they were swindling the Europeans.
And when did Indians become the imbecils portrayed in this thread? They knew what land belonged to this tribe and what land belonged to that tribe. Not only did they sell property but returned to trade goods with the Plymouth Colonists.
The Mayflower Compact concerned the people on the Mayflower, and it's purpose was to insure majority rule among them when they settled.
