Do you sell air? Because to Native Americans, land was not sellable. Anytime they "sold" land to Europeans, they either didn't get the concept of now they couldn't "trespass" or else they thought they were swindling the Europeans.

Do you live in a house? Did you buy it or is that impossible because you can't buy air?
And when did Indians become the imbecils portrayed in this thread? They knew what land belonged to this tribe and what land belonged to that tribe. Not only did they sell property but returned to trade goods with the Plymouth Colonists.

The Mayflower Compact concerned the people on the Mayflower, and it's purpose was to insure majority rule among them when they settled.

1. The Mayflower Compact was a piece of government documentation for the pilgrims to stake claims to these lands for God and the King of England.

2. Christianity was used by the settlers to take over the land of north America, as was the whole New World that was discovered.
3. Yes the New World was up for grabs, and those who were over ran by good Christian folks were not given much of a choice, and were thrown aside on the most part, not sure I could say it was done in a Godly fashion.
