Well put. I was just thinking about your point six. if russia invaded Greenland, would Denmark really be able to defend Greenland?
I don't see how. They would immediately look to the united states to see what we would do.

Exactly. You can bet your last dollar they would expect the USA, our being right here and the backbone of NATO not only to champion 90% of the effort, but they would demand it and condemn Trump for doing any less, as would the democrats.

"It is our solemn duty," they would say! What the hell would Denmark (or even add in Germany in there) would do to stop Russia from waltzing right over the North Sea and take Greenland?

I'm almost tempted to wish Russia did it and turned Greenland into a stalag and made all Greenlanders enlisted into the Russian army called up to serve and fight in the Ukraine War just to serve them right.

But they'd just still blame Trump and the USA for not coming to bail them out.
