A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers every where. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality.

A victory for Hollywood , the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion.

Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered and beaten by bullies who even in triumph cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition.

A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears o n the face of a leftist celebrity.

A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs.

Congratulations America !

I love how Obama-haters will do just about anything to dig up some little smidgens of whether imagined, perceived, or real 'dirt' on him... It's so damn amusing :D

I'm not saying he smells of roses and I don't see the 'messianic value' in him that some of his supporters do... but come on... this does at times look a bit ... pathetic.

Wasn't it the left who preached that the World Hates us and by electing Obama the world will love us once again?

What is pathetic? Isn't it time to worry that the voters have made a terrible mistake?

I'm just wondering if there is some point when you will lose faith in President Obama?
3000 Dow points? Tax evaders and lobbyists in his administration? Renewing the Bush steps in the War on Terror? Troops remain in Iraq? Financial plan promised, but yet to be revealed?

Is it possible that he is everything the right warned about, an ideologue with no abily, or merely requires more time...and how much more time?

I guess I'm asking, are you a voter who wants only the best for the country, or, what has been known as a "yellow dog democrat"?

It's a Tory tabloid.

There used to be a tv series produced for the BBC which featured a bumbling but genial Minister Jim Hacker, his head of department Sir Humphrey and Hacket's press secretary Bernard. In a famous little piece the writers of the series encaspulated the British papers of the time:

Hacker: Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers:
The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country;
The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country;
The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country;
The Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country;
The Financial Times is read by people who own the country;
The Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country;
And The Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.
Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun?
Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits.

Take me as an outsider looking in ... I used to live in the US, but I've moved away. Look, I think it definitely is of utmost importance to monitor what our leaders are doing and to hold them accountable. So, obviously, I am not suggesting that anyone should stop doing that... However, what I have witnessed so far - especially on this discussion board - is that 'Obama-haters' among which you seem to fit snugly - go to ridiculous sources and extreme lengths to dig something - anything - up and based on that make preposterous judgments.

As a matter of fact, I am equally annoyed by people that see Obama as a second coming - the ultimate redeemer of US, etc and so on... Both sides of the extremes should just take a :chillpill: ... IMHO.

Now THAT'S a good comeback, a huge improvement.

Ever notice how most of Obamas endorsements were from celebrities? Sorry, but that fact on it's own made me not like him. Then you toss in Oprah ... anything she endorses just makes me uneasy.

The people here will not because they look at if it's a sports team and they will defend them to their death. Sad really.

The London Daily Mail

Founded 1896. Originally a broadsheet, turned into a tabloid in 1971.

If, for some reason you have a problem with the source, remember that even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then. (Resist the temptation to post based on the word 'nut.')

Hey, tabloids are what made our BatBoy famous!

Why do you think he had to go into hiding as MountainMan?

Shhhhh
don't tell everybody.

So now, saying anything remotely disparaging about Mr Obama is now defined as "hate".
Isn't that just special?
