I have. Have you?
1. The world in which the President inherited was in (understatement) disarray. Not only did President Obama not have time, he did not have a road map on how to respond to the second greatest economic crisis in our nation's history.
Agree or disagree?
2. The political climate into which the President operated was poisoned even before he took the oath of office. The conservative media and conservatives in general dogged his every move and openly proclaimed they hoped he failed.
Agree or disagree?
3. The economic conditions in Europe continue to worry financial markets negatively impacting our economy. The President has little or no influence to fix Europe
Agree or disagree?
4. President Obama supported the Auto Bailout which commenced under the former President Bush. It prevented a much higher unemployment rate in the U.S.
Agree or disagree?
5. The Right Wing in American politics has continued to label President Obama as a Socialist or Marxist and that includes the Republican Leadership in the Congress: Boehner and McConnell.
In addition to a world-wide economic slowdown nations which look to American's leadership are dismayed by our nation divided and this has perpetuated the economic malaise of the recovery.
Agree or disagree?
I think the reform of health care in America is necessary but that putting that issue on the front burner was a mistake.
I think supporting the Lilly Ledbetter and signing it into law was politically heroic given the past and current examples of misogyny in our country.
I think the President has done a fine job of beginning to correct the mess he inherited under difficult conditions, that the efforts by the GOP in general and the far right fringe in particular has created "house divided" maybe as great as the President Lincoln inherited in 1861 (and I think that was done intentionally)
Agree or disagree?
!) Disagree. Obama had 3 years to turn that around. Reagan inherited arguably a worse mess and had it turned around in 2 years.
Complete bullshit. The malaise began under Nixon, Ford than Carter suffered through and worked to mitigate stagflation. Obama had a solidly filibuster-proof Democratic Congress. Reagan had to contend with a Democratic congress.
Obama's mistake was in believing the GOP would have the country's best interest at stake, they did not and don't today. If Obama did not have a road map, that was his fault.
More bullshit, no one had a road map and to suggest that we look to the 1920's is foolish at best He claimed he could fix it, and that's why people voted for him. Financial crises are not new phenomenon and we have data going back hundreds of years. When was Charles Kindelberger's book published?
2) Disagree. Only Rush Limbaugh said he hoped he'd fail.
Not true, McConnell for one made it clear. And Rush Limbaugh is not the GOP.
Yet why do elected members of the GOP kiss is ass? Obama came in promising bipartisanship. When he had a meeting with the GOP on health care and Eric Cantor presented a list of objections Obama ignored them and changed the subject.
It is always smart to ignore Eric Cantor That is not bipartisanship. Bipartisanship does not mean declaring "I won" and expecting everyone else to fall in line.
What do you know about bipartisanship?
3) Disagree. Europe was in better shape 2 years ago than we were. So while events there have an effect here you cannot say they are responsible for conditions here, which have been miserable for 3 years.
more bullshit on your part, it's a world economy
4) Agree Obama supported the auto bailout, which was a failure btw.
explain how it was a failoure Both companies went bankrupt anyway. Bush pushed it over congressional objections. It preserved some jobs at the expense of wiping out bond holders, trashing the rule of law, and establishing the imperial presidency where Obama could dismiss CEOs and dictate even advertising policy. The resources that went to bailing out the automakers would have been redistributed and used more effectively by other companies.
Nice rant, your conclusion is to redistribute wealth - how pink of you.
5) I dont know who "the right wing" is. Rush Limbaugh? Scott Brown? Ron Paul? It is a non statement. So I cannot say whether I disagree or not.
