This is, according to the observations I've been making since the campaign of 2020, how democrats view elections. When a democrat wins an election and they perform poorly while in office, the election didn't really take place and the Republican they replaced is still in office, responsible for the failure. When a Republican wins an election and performs well, the election didn't really take place and the democrat they replaced is still in office, responsible for the positive news. Basically, elections do or do not occur, based on who wins and what they accomplish.
