LINDSAY BROWN, UNI. OF SOUTHERN QLD: What it could mean is that we have a very simple way of intervening in the diet, of adding something to the diet that is incredibly palatable, that would, over the long term, decrease all the problems with obesity.

PIP COURTNEY, PRESENTER: Move over kale and quinoa; the latest super food to hit the shops is a plum Queensland Government scientists accidentally bred a decade ago. There's been worldwide interest in the plum since trials on fat rats showed the antioxidant-rich fruit reversed a host of obesity-related health problems. With the harvest under way, all eyes are now on the six Queensland mates who bought the rights to commercialise the plum to see if they can turn it into a multimillion-dollar global business.
I'm not a fat rat. So those better be some damn good tasting plums if they want me to buy them.

Queen Victoria's favorite fruit was Mangosteen imported from distant colonies and very expensive back in the day and is a super food. Somehow I found that on the web some years ago and ordered three 32 oz. bottles of Mangosteen Juice. Quite a different fruit juice but tasted good to me when mixed with vodka.
