Which is what we are supposed to have. When a legislature at any level in this country passes a law that violates the Constitution,
you need a judicial body with the power and authority to strike that law down.
Without it, your rights would be subject to whatever were the whims of local, state, and federal lawmakers.
Want to see gun rights disappear little by little? Take away the power the Supreme Court to defend the 2nd Amendment.
You really think the US would allow any court to take way there right to bear arms?
That's the point. If a state like CA were to pass a sweeping anti gun law, you'd expect that to be taken to court, wouldn't you? Wouldn't you
want it to be challenged? Of course, that woulndn't be "judicial activism" then in your mind would it?
Like they did with the Voting Rights Act? That was passed unanimously in Congress and still the SCOTUS struck it down. Does "Heller" ring any bells for you at all?
Really? The Voting Rights Act? Citizens United? Come on, think before you type, seriously.
If anything, the current majority in the court is corporate.
And there is nothing in the constitution that states 2 men have a right to become husband and wife
There is no0thing in the constitution that states the will of the people in California means nothing
There is nothing in the constitution that states I must go and buy a 9MM (whats the diff with that and health ins.?)
You do understand that not all your rights are enumerated in the Constitution don't you? Where in the Constitution does it say you have a right to interstate travel? Procreation? Look up the term "fundamental rights".
BTW which on is the wife?
Should we ask your spouse that question?
